Port Macquarie business owner had 'everything taken away' by floods
A Port Macquarie restaurant owner has detailed for Sky News his business going underwater in the extreme weather event currently lashing New South Wales.
Whalebone Wharf owner Nathan Tomkins said he had never seen anything like the current floods in the 24 years he had been in the spot.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride,” he said.
“This is my whole life you known, it's every part of me, I’ve put everything into it and just coming back from COVID, just starting to show some profits … looking forward to a strong year but you know everything was taken away.”
Mr Tomkins said, however, he was receiving an overwhelming amount of support from his friends, family and employees.

I live in Port Macquarie and thank you for your kind thoughts. But before the bushfires we had drought too. So it was Droughts Bushfires then Floods. Absolutely devastating. But we in Port Macquarie and surrounds are a strong community and the support from businesses and all the help received from armed forces fire brigades just to name a few coming from all over Australia to help with the clean up was so heartwarming. My heart breaks for the loss to so many though 🙏🏻💜💔❣️

They haven't noticed yet but in a week or so, when the skies clear take a look at the Himawari-8 satellite images, the entire continent is getting a green tint to it, even the central desert regions.
Floating restaurant ?
I do hope he does what he can to help the disabled resident in the rental property he owns across the road. My bosses did what they could to give the poor person a bed for the night a shower and clean dry clothes as they found him exhausted in the driveway of my work premises. So let’s just hope this man can spare some of his gofundme money for his tenant.

He didn't put any of the GoFundMe money towards 246 Hastings River Drive while I was living there. There was black mould on every ceiling and no proper floor coverings, after losing everything in March, when I had to move out September 18, 2021 to make way for one of the chef's from his restaurant to move in.

Nathan was my landlord while I was living in his house at 246 Hastings River Drive paying $295/week rent. He tried to give me 2 weeks notice because I couldn't afford $20/week more on my disability pension and told me in front of witnesses "that's life, I've got people ready to move in and pay $480/week. I was still living with black mould all through the house and no proper floor coverings in the middle of winter and then Nathan wanted to kick me to the curb in August. I took the whole matter to Port Macquarie noticeboard Facebook page but had to take down my post because Nathan was harrassing me too. However not before I found help, fought Nathan, and am now living in Casino. Nathan is a freemason, he will never know true hardship unless he tells his truth and is found out

FINALLY, a man from Regional New South Wales. I'm sick & tired of hearing people from Western Sydney complain about not getting more free-stuff from the taxpayer & acting like their life is "so hard". I want to hear more from Regional New South Wales, not some Western Sydney family who had their children born in a State of the Art facility called "Westmead Hospital" & thinks there needs to be a royal commission into the hospital because a doctor got their "BEAUTIFUL" baby's name wrong. All the development in Port Macquarie has created the floods to be worse, as the silt blocks-up the rivers & the water isn't allowed to flow.
