Port Light Seals + Screens Replacement - Sea Ray Boat

One of the priority jobs to take care of on our new-to-us Sea Ray 370 Sundancer was to replace the rubber gaskets on all six port light windows. Three were showing signs of leaking, so naturally it was most prudent to replace the gaskets on all of them.

I installed the same gasket and screen kit in my 2001 260 Sundancer. I made a point of placing the gasket joint at the top of the opening to avoid water seeping when it sits at the porthole bottom. I also suggest lubricating the screen seal with soapy water, a film of petroleum jelly or silicone grease. That makes the screen install a breeze!

Well sir, this will be job #1 on our 380. The previous owner decided to just get some folded cardboard to wedge between the latch and window to create a tighter seal... tisk tisk. No 'Hoo Ha' for that.... all will be replaced! Then a mighty "Hoo Ha" with a crack of a cold beer to celebrate.

This boat came with the same 'cardboard will hold it' type repairs when we bought here. Happily, the repairs on all SIX of the port light windows worked perfectly, only requiring a small adjustment on one or two by the end of the season. That was due to the foam gaskets seating themselves over a few months, so be aware that you you'll probably have to do the same after the first season of use. . .

It would have been helpful to provide a source rather than talking around it for 3 minutes. Why bother doing the video if not providing sources? I'm glad the Sea Ray owners I know are much more helpful. Try this site: pompanettellc.com/product-category/spare-parts/portlight-replacement-parts/replacement-screens-for-extruded-portlights/. Might want to join the Sea Ray club, these owners are very helpful. www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/bomar-portlight-gaskets.87870/
