The Port Kembla Copper Auxiliary building was demolished in July 2014. Precision Demolition used two 30 ton excavators and a 15 ton excavator with many different attachments including shears, pulverizes, hammers, buckets and grabs to demolish and recycle the 1300 ton structure. The demolition required precision engineering to make the building collapse after certain columns, bolts and beams were cut with oxy torches. 95% of materials were recycled and the foundation and ground slab stayed for reuse.
