Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo 4s! What a car!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hi All,
What a first week and this Porsche Taycan is surely one of the best all-around cars ever made! I know that is a big statement but if there is a better car then please drop it round for me to review.
The first week running on 7kw overnight charging worked very well - so far so good!
Thank you for all your comments on previous videos, road trip in the Taycan next!
Regards Richard

It’s great to listen to someone with your experience of higher end cars providing feedback on using EV’s 👍🏻
I was driving a Tesla model S for ten days while waiting for my Panamera back then a 100d. Then I drove the Taycan 4S and it’s dramatically better car in every aspect. Happy that you are enjoying it, I am buying one the moment I sell the Panny 🎉
With your insane collection of cars - doing some fun road trips in the future will be super entertaining!!!
changed my Panamera turbo s ehbyrid for this, had v8 amgs before. they win on petrol sound but that's it. The taycan turbo s ct is best car I've ever owned.if you can charge at home and don't have to go more than 200 miles before you get back home again EV is way superior to petrol. i've paid well over the odds buying a new one, it would seem with deprecation but if you buy it as a company car - even if for personal use- you don't early mind. it does everything - no other car of this size drives like it as sports car.
Sounds fab, pleased you’re enjoying it, keep well, thanks for the video.
I look forward to the next set of videos especially the self driving ones. Also could you do some self parking? What type of brakes do you have? How do you find the brake by wire (regen mode) and then going to friction? Can you tell the transition point ? Could you only do regen on the brake? Does the friction brakes also regen? Sorry a lot of questions about the brakes but Porsche have chosen their own method.
My Sport Turismo suffers the same rear camera dirty issue. Use the rear window washer jet, it activates a washer jet which pops out and cleans camera. Echo your comments about the way it steers and rides, it’s probably the best daily commuter and school run hack I have had so far. My only gripe is the pan roof doesn’t open but that’s been really nit picky. Great colour and spec too. The blue looks amazing in the sunlight.Enjoy. 👍

Thank you, yes the washer worked on the camera today perfect 👏
EV's are good for short distances, but for long journeys, they're not practical, especially in winter when you'll have even less range. Not to mention the issues with charging and in a lot of cases the cost of charging them is a lot more than the cost of filling up a petrol or diesel car. Not to mention the cost of replacing the main battery in the Taycan is £40k

The Taycan has an 8 year warranty on the battery. Porsche owners get much cheaper charging rates at the IONITY network (almost half price). Sure, the public EV infrastructure needs improving, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be.

@SDK2006b Well, if the battery has an 8 year warranty, but you sell the car privately after, say, 6 years because you're getting more money for the car then the new owner will be in for nasty shock when the battery does needing replaced.

@@grantelliot9803 - EV battery failures are overhyped. After the warranty expires, the batteries don’t stop working the next day - The max range slowly declines over time and individual cells can be replaced, rather than replacing the whole unit.

Winter is a killer, but my Genesis also comes with heavily subsidised ionity charging (24p/kwh) which is incredibly useful. Just wish they'd add more chargers at the 2 main charging locations I utilise on my commute. Had a Taycan on order, but the LONG delays and lease company price increases put that to bed in the end.

If the battery can do 1500 charge cycles before fallings below 80% X200 mile range and you have 300k range. There's a reason all car companies warranty them for 100k miles. Even 2% aren't going to fail. No moving parts. They said the same about Prius batteries and now taxis put several 100k on those!
The Taycan is a very underrated car because Porsche over priced it on launch. Now that prices are depressed it’s a great car.
On your trip. Stick to IONITY & Porsche centres, plan your route on the app to include which charge stop. It will pre - heat your battery ready to maximise your charge rate. On self drive. Assuming you have adaptive cruise and don’t have InnoDrive or Active Lane Change Assist spec’d from factory you can upgrade to both and pay for it monthly or a one off fee.
The van lol
Be interesting to know the running and service costs. Your going to be stuck in that seat soon.
I now have two EVs, ( crazy I know ) and I am very happy with both of them, Its just a different way of filling the car up. The fuel savings totally outway the hassle, The question of range all depends on how you drive them, but when it comes to depreciation its always the same with luxury cars, look at your big Audis, and big BMW's always lose a stack of money and then people can finally afford to buy them. Would I have paid 80k for a top of a range E-tron 55 (no way), but at £35k for a fully loaded version against £35k for a Q8, that drinks diesel like I drink Guinness. was a no brainier. Love them or hate them there room on the drive for both.
Fully agree. My CT Ts is an amazing machine.

Thank you, I think so but I have not used it yet.
My Subaru WRX was so planted in the wet
Currently looking for a 72 plate Cross 4S. Can’t seem to get anything like the one you picked up for 66k. Did you make an offer or was it advertised at the price you paid? Love the colour you went with! Love the videos too.

Thank you, I found it on Autotrader, message me on instagram and I will give you a contact.
I have model 3 performance now and do like external size of it for supermarket car parking and narrow country roads. How do you find the taycan size wise for parking and narrow roads etc as I’m tempted with a change but at 5m long and over 2m wide, the size of it is a little off putting. I do very little motorway driving but do 20k miles a year in town/city and B roads mainly.

Interesting, I haven’t found it an issue on the size of the car so far. I had the size concerns when I bought the car. Fantastic driving experience
If you can make that trip on Innodrive it will be awesome to watch :)
Lovely car pity it's electric
