Less expensive models with 2-300 miles range. Fast charging batteries and more fast charging stations. Right now ev would take care of about 80% of my driving requirements but I hope they step up to 100%. I still want the choice of ICE vehicles though.

Eh one, maybe two above base model. The Taycan 2WD is coming this year and has less power; it should be just the Taycan S. It then should have a Taycan 4 which should sit just below the Taycan 4S. This is based off other Porsche model naming which have been consistent across their models.

same here. i hate the idea of batteries wearing out and turning the car into junk, hate the idea of no exhaust, hate the idea of cars pulling from the still dirty electric grid, hate the idea of driving fast draining charge really quickly, and really really hate the idea of having little to no tuning opportunity. but porsche sure killed it with this car, even solved at least the exhaust problem by not making a fake engine noise but giving the ev its own unique noise. and we also need to think about those people who thought "noo my horses it makes this horrible noise while my horse makes a beautiful nayyyyyy sound ew disgusting" when the model t came out.

I drove a base Model X a few months ago and it totally changed my perception on electric cars. The placement of the batteries makes it handle really well for its weight, and you can do truly stupid speeds in short spurts and nobody knows. It’s so smooth and it makes so much sense. Made me a fan of electric cars for sure. If I don’t have a manual, the car might as well be electric because it just makes the experience smoother and less clunky! Great video!!

Great review! Yup you are correct, my 2018 Model X 75D at 90% charge yields 199 miles indicated. Once my 52 mile round trip drive to work is done I only have around 122 summer 112 winter miles remaining. That's in Virginia and at mixed interstate and country road speeds. On many range reviews the Taycan will give you the exact range is shows at start with maby a little in reserve but only 1-3 miles extra. I like that and also the driving experience you described so well. THANKS ALOT YOU &^%&^! Now my used Taycan 4S arrives tomorrow HAHAHAA. But really, nice review helped me make the decision to try a different direction other than Tesla. 👍

really liked the vid. finally someone that's driving the car and not spending 50% of the video blabbing about the styling of the infotainment. the one thing you got slightly wrong is when you said that people might not choose a Porsche/non tesla if they already have a tesla wall connector at home; its a common misconception that these at home tesla chargers work differently than a generic wall charger( j1772). Yes they do have some safety stuff like if the power goes out it wont immediately supply power to the car, it has some fancy Bluetooth stuff and lights, but it uses the same electrical supply and communication standard that Cisco and all the others use, just in a different physical connector shape. Both the tesla and j1772 are basically both just a low voltage control box that operates a house mains relay, that when the car signal says "hey supply me power" it powers the relay and the car is basically connected directly to house mains power. thus, if you have a tesla home wall connector ($500 ish) you don't need to replace it if you want to charge another car that has a j1772 connector. yes you will need an adapter. while they are less expensive than changing the full box, its still $100. although there are people that have videos on how to make them yourself but i wouldn't recommend making that your first electrical experience cuz doing it wrong could cause shorts, fires, damage to car bla bla bla

Your POV vids are great, but even better when it's a juxtaposition of a vehicle of this caliber with roads where I'm usually carting my family back and forth from the South Shore Mall or Legacy Place at significantly lower g-forces ;-).

Never thought I'd say this but that fake engine noise sounds really cool. This would definitely help solve the lack of sound electrics have.

How are the stability control nannies on an all wheel drive EV ? Does sport or sport+ give you torque vectoring without using brake pads ?

As someone who has a Manual Porsche Cayman 981 I'm not crazy about EV's however if I had to have one then it has to be the Taycan. Porsche have pulled off such an impressive feat of engineering with this car. Fantastic looking too.

My god how do I get into the position you are in... You are living my literal dream. I would drop everything in order to just be given these cars to drive around and making youtube videos. The only thing I want to keep is living in germany. I gotta admit, it's really frustrating seeing you drive a taycan and then staying below or near 75mph, these cars are made to sit comfortably at 150mph XD My cheap used economy 3 series is perfectly happy at 120mph, it wants to go that speed. Straight as an arrow, just flying across the autobahn.

Cool review - regarding the noise that you can select to be heard in the interior, it is my understanding that it is entirely based on the noise coming from the motors and is just amplified. In other words, it’s my understanding that it is not an artificial or made up noise. Regarding the comparative range between Tesla and Porsche EV ‘s, I have read numerous reviews which have shown repeatedly that the actual real world ranges are very similar, which is rather surprising considering how different the EPA figures or as you mentioned. It makes me wonder whether at some point if we’re going to have a Teslagate like VW’s infamous dieselgate come over this time regarding range cheating…

Porsche always understates their specs. While all other makers, including Tesla, overstate their specs. There are Taycan reviews where the car can do over 400km easily or up to 560 km even.

That thing looks incredible! Thanks for sharing it with us!! :D What are your thoughts on the traction control? You were having enough fun to trigger it several times but it seemed a lot less noticeable than on a gasoline powered car!

Certainly noticeable but it did not allow for very much slip. It’s possible there are more extreme levels that I didn’t explore. It did an incredible job letting me approach, exceed, and remain at the limits of grip. I only drove the car for 45 minutes. You’re watching my first corners in this car and I was very comfortable pushing it. Great chassis and systems

@@TedwardDrives For sure. EVs are going in an amazing direction but they're so eerily quiet that I really can't complain about having some fake engine noise...as long as you can toggle it.
