Thank you for this very informative video. Your work ethic, perfection, matches this car. I have to change my starter and am hoping to find a way to remove lower bolt without the long extension from front. Hoping to maybe gain access some other way, now I see maybe by removing air oil separator, another part I have on hand anyway, maybe I can get it? Or I was thinking the intake manifold.

Paul, a video on how to test the ignition coils would be good.

Looks like that rear main seal has let a lot of oil through. Time to replace it.

I just had oil in my coolant too. Can it come from the ATF oil cooler? It also looks like the previous owner used normal tap water for coolant, now there is considerable amount of limescale in some of the coolant hoses. Any Idea how to get rid of this? Thank you.

Really good video. What's the simplest way to get a look at the condition of the 'trumpets' on my 986? Thanks

Remove throttle body & use a camera to see but I'll tell you this if you have a 986 majority of these engine have never been cleaned properly.

@@emdporschespecialistcaring8975 Thanks for the reply I will look at doing that soon. Do you think it could actually be good to use the odd bit of E10 fuel to help reduce carbon deposits? I've heard it's good at cleaning.... perhaps to good! I try to run 99 octane e5 as much as possible myself

Is it the same for a porsche 981?

  • @emdporschespecialistcaring8975

Yes same for 981 the only difference is 981 is a direct injection meaning it will be more carbon inside intake ports.
