I don't know if it is just me but I actually find it refreshing to see a "normal" non GT or RS Porsche on the Ring, so I am very glad this is a simple Carrera model. Pretty much every other Porsche on the Ring is a special version. Really looking forward to the journey of upgrading this car..

The word you are looking for is "classic" and I agree. I really hate the GT and other edgy (yet functional) variants because those are so over the top, it just stops feeling like a car and more like a rocket on wheels.

I love the styling of a 993 Carrera, so beautiful and really looks great even in this white paint. Looking forward for future videos about it!

If Manthey finds out that the suspension is misaligned now and adjusts it for these tires, please do another lap analysis before any suspension upgrades for a real assessment of the original suspension...

After owning +10 911’s over the last decade, this year I finally bought a 993. Stock manual C2 1994 in PTS Amethyst Metallic and AC delete which saves ALOT more weight than the sun roof. I just love the ride! Much more compliant than my 964. The 993 is quickly becoming my favorite. Looking forward to learning about the mods at Manthey🤩

I know you have been doing builds before (RingTracktor, WRX) but this will a little different and I get the feeling, more focus directed by you Misha. It will be great. Also, you now can take a drive with Robert and his E30 M3 and the 993. 2 Ring-Tools for the age. PERFECT

I remember when you and Robert discussed small hp cars and how they teach the best habits of track driving...I now get the statement of ability over tech and I am so impressed that 300 hp 993 can still mess with many ego's...Great content as always...

I've noticed you don't show the crashed cars for the yellow flags and I wanted to say: thank you! This is very considerate of the people who crashed, for one, the marshals, for two, and just better for everyone. I'm always interested to see where you just run a classic completely unmodified and 'enjoy' its shortcomings as an experience of what old engineering was like and where you make modifications to address issues and make the car the best it can be without changing its character. Looking forward to this story.

I'm not as big a fan of Porsches (probably because I can't ever afford to own one). But this car is simple perfection to me, from the color inside and out, to the lines, wheels, spoiler, and interior. My favorite car is one that is an uncompromised experience, like most generations of Miata, or BRZ, or older cars. Where you can relax and drive and not worry about anything but driving and enjoying all the sounds and feedback the car is giving you. I got a lot of that from your video. Thank you!

I once got to drive a 911 clubsport from 1994 or 1995( excuse me for not remembering). The owner was maybe 70 years old and driven porsche for many years and even been a driver instructor. Since 2014 I been working as a carinspector here in Sweden so have tested many cars but these one was the most special I think.

The front spoiler and rear wing are 993 RS touring style. One of my all time favorites.

This type of content with follow-up episodes is the best on this channel so far. At least to me and im sure it will raise up the viewer number considerably as well. Good stuff, keep it up!

Love your content mate and I am totally in love with this car as well! I can really feel the satisfaction of the door through the camera :D If the weather keeps being nice for a bit longer me and my friend might be coming down for some laps, otherwise we will definately have a visit next summer! I´m running a Audi S3 8P from 2008 which I really like. Totaly stock still, apart from running on Nankang NS2-R which was a really nice improvement going from ordinary street tires. Do you have any tips on what my next upgrade should be? I have been looking into a proper seat, which I think would be the most bang for the buck at the moment at least. But as a big guy I´m having some troubles finding the right seat. Is there anything else apart from a seat that you would recommend going for first? Thanks and take care :)

Such a lovely, clean example of a 911. I doubt I'll ever own one (there's other cars I'd like to own first), but if I ever did get one I would want it to be very much like this one :)

My neighbor had an original 993 GT2. For me this car is still THE Porsche. This might be childhood bias. The bolted wheel arches, the massive spoiler with the additional air intakes, the wide Turbo rear, the small number of cars made. Unfortunately the GT2 did not survive an encounter with a ditch. Amazing project, I'm looking forward to the updates on the car! The lose back end really reminds me of my uncle's 964. Especially in bumpy corners you need to know what you are doing because the limit might be closer than you think and the beyond limit comes quite quickly with older 911.

Nice video, the POV lap is as if you were doing a VR lap on Assetto Corsa, but better ;-) In fact it inspired me to do and record an AC challenge myself :-D Regarding the Porsche 993 CS project itself, its indeed very interesting, I have enjoyed watching all related videos you have posted so far. Really looking forward to see the evolution on this project.

Hey Misha, fantastic driving with the SUV suspension and stock brakes. With regards to the power, 3.8 conversion with lightened flywheel, more aggressive cams and tune, is going to be amazing. I think the owner is going for that RS look, he has no sunroof, RS wing, RS wheels and spoiler, so 3.8 is going to be the last piece of the puzzle. Also, I think you should buy a 993 yourself: )

I love this car Misha! I play GT Sport so last night I decided to take an actual RS and lighten it by about 30 kilos, bring it up to about 340 hp, and make a few slight suspension tweaks. Such a fun car to drive and one that kept up with cars much faster. And yeah, that 911 lift-off oversteer is such a scary thing when you're not used to it. I dialed some of that out but left enough just to make it a unique driving experience. Maybe one day I'll get to do it with the real thing. One can certainly dream...

Very enjoyable engine/exhaust sound. I wish all modern Porsches sounded like this. For people who feel piped sound on modern OPF-cars is a heinous crime, maybe these air-cooled sounds could be piped in instead, give the modern cars some emotion. I seem to remember in the ‘80s there was something similar in the form of a cassette tape in the car stereo that when you drove it sounded like a sports car exhaust inside the car, though outside it sounded like the engine was on its last legs.

I'm torn by the plans for this car. It's exciting to see how each upgrade will develop performance. On the other hand, changing such a magnificent and pure 993 is difficult to watch. A 993 Carrera 4 is a 'bucket list' car for me, and visually, this is extremely close (not the wide body). Any 993 is a piece of art. Having one so clean seems heresy to start fiddling with and upgrading beyond the minor, tidy mods it already has.

Ruf yellowbird on AC is quite the handful, I don’t recall my time on it but it wasn’t the best one.

While my personal favorite is 996 (thank you EA!), I think there's a beauty in mechanically simple sportcars of 80-90's. I'm really interested how much of that simplicity will remain after all modifications :)
