Because of the fact that they want to look fast they spend more money than they could actually make their car faster. That's the definition of a ricer. There's no ricer in the video because the Porsche 918 spyder are stock and the Nissan patrol really didn't change anything for the exterior only the engine that is tuned and swapped.

@@hellohi6436 it has only around 100 more horsepower. And if you see the race between the Concept One and the 918, the difference was close to being this big. And the Nevera is much faster than the Concept one and since it is electric, it's acceleration rate doesn't decrease too much and it reaches its top speed of 258mph in a relatively quick time. Adding that the Nevera is lighter and much more aerodynamic, it will surely beat the Patrol

@@emiratesaviation33 This video was filmed over 5 years ago, In case you didn't know the patrol is now pumping over 3000+hp (around 3500hp), while the rimac is fast i don't think it can beat the patrol

The raw reactions of them driving at high speeds is something wonderful to watch

@@nicholasturner5159 we call it a 3-door or a 5-door.. and these 3 doors are mostly used off road.. so is this one.. believe it or not it’s made for hill climbing/dune climbing

Lol james in the back ground cleaning the windows and being slow and making sure everything is perfect was amazing

believe it or not, that nissan partol has my 2013 GTR R35 drive train, I had a 2013 dark blue black edition R35 where a guy came and bought it from me, I didn't know the plan till I later on was told that they gutted my GTR and everything was transferred to that Nissan patrol body, I still remember the buyers name " Salem" , car and even his number plate!

@@ciestermr1848 it's probably for dune bashing. They have events in UAE like liwa festival where you have multiple dune related races. They even drift 4x4 platforms when i went there. Then there's the hills of horror where the price is a brand new patrol.

​@@esnebta Yeah, it's old tech that is being replaced. You can simply have a smaller engine and add electrical engines and you'll immediately have more torque (which is what really matters in a drag race).

The Patrol is sporting an entire R35 Nissan GT-R VR38 drivetrain that has been stroked out to a 4.1 liter engine build by T1 Race Development. Not only that, but this Patrol also has a build Shep Transmission as well as GT-R axles, hubs, brakes, rear subframe, everything! They sent a GT-R over to the shop, and they got a shell back essentially. Jeremy Clarkson would be proud!

The drag race b/w the 918 and the Veyron was such a simple, yet such an entertaining and exciting spectacle! And I was really happy that the Porsche won against the fatman. The aftermath was a bit humiliating, not for the car but for Hammond in my opinion. It was a heavily (and that is an understatement) tuned SUV and its really not a fair competition of course. Though it was HILARIOUS. The bigger jaw drop was hearing from Clarkson that that thing had 1900 f*cking HP. 🤣🤣🤣

What's more the stock car with the highest HP is the regera with around 1500HP while veyron is around 1000HP and the 918 id just bellow 900HP

Why wasn't the Veyron put in Top Speed Mode? I think the rear spoiler and lowered suspension could have helped. Just saying. Awesome video guys!

For people saying that 1900 horsepower is a big thing, it isn't. Production cars have around 1500 to 1800 horsepower now so 1900 and 2000 isn't very far
