    would be helpful to have a comparison of before and after boost numbers, to get an idea of possible problems that may result from excessive boost.

    Interesting to see that flat spot on the stock Dyno power run. I wonder if Porsche did that on purpose to make sure you have to rev it right out to get full power at the top of the rev range (to emulate an N/A power delivery). With the remap you're losing power at the top of the rev range (past the turbo optimum range).

    Hi there, on your site you sell a tuning box for the 718 but here you mention you did an ECU flash. Are these two different products? Also what guarantee do you provide against damage to engine? Lastly how are you increasing the power through leaning out the mixture or increasing the boost / timing advancement..

  • @vivid_racing

    @vivid_racing

    6 жыл бұрын

    We have both products. Similar to others cars like the BMW M4, CLA45, Porsche 991 Turbo we sell a tuning box and a ECU flash. Some customers like the ease of the tuning box for warranty reasons over a ECU flash. The ECU flash has no visual detection but a dealer might be able to check flash counters. All tuning is done to adjust timing, fuel, boost, throttle limiters, speed limiters, torque limiters, and more. We have done thousands of cars and have a HUGe background in Porsche. The only way an engine failure could happen is from a pre-existing conditions or a person messing with a car via an external boost controller themselves..

    One question, I'm new to car tuning, and I live in Vietnam. I do have the 2.0 Boxster 718 from 2019. Now, I do know that the ECU is in the trunk of the car, behind the cover, you mentioned in the video that you tuned the ecu through an OBD2 port, which is below the driver steering wheel to the left side. I thought that tuning ECU invovles taking the ECU out, plugs some weird wires in and have a software and tune it. Nice video! Very comprehensive! P/S: I'm also considering buying your $1000 tune kit on your website. I wonder how does this work. Do I get like a file or something with a software, and a cable that plugs into the car through OBD2 port? There are two though, one is $750 and the other is 1000. What's the difference between these two? I really want to tune my car ecu, but there isn't anyone near me who can do it

    @@vivid_racing cool! thanks a lot! One last question. The car seems to have a soft rev limiter at 4,000rpm in Park, I have my sport exhaust turned on and sport mode on, but there isn't any crackles and pops since the rev was at 4,000rpm only. Will this ECU tune solve this soft limiter problem? I just want it to rev to 6,300rpm in Park so I can have to crackles and pops when I rev it.

    Sounds like there's not a lot of restriction in that system. Maybe look into something that has a little more restriction and your idle should be quieter. Another option is to have another muffler installed or resonators to dial the tone back.

    What are the HP and torque improvements in 1st and 2nd gear? The gearing is extremely long in a Cayman and likely I wouldn't get past 2nd gear (up to like 80mph) except briefly in a few scenarios.

    @@justin2050 Absolutely the amount of low end torque is enough to drastically change the 0-60. On the street its fine to test but on the rollers of dyno, doesnt make sense to get good numbers. Dyno testing you want to try to have a 1:1 setup which is usually running the car in 3rd or 4th.
