    why orthophosphoric acid on already etched porcelain surfuce !!!!

  • @drabyad2498

    @drabyad2498

    After hydrofluoric acid etching of the ceramic a layer of salts develops on the surface which acts as a barrier preventing good priming of the surface. Phosphoric acid is thought to remove these salts and dissolve them for a fresh surface. (However this is an arguable matter and some argue against its use)

    Although the ceramic material is brittle material ,but we can use it in less than 1mm for facial and occlusal veneer ..why??

  • @emyfekry3344

    @emyfekry3344

    Porcelain is brittle like natural tooth but porcelain is so hard to withstand chips and cracking although wrong or heavy frequent compact forces could cause fracture by the way. So it's indicated as veeners or full crowns just for anterior teeth where no heavy forces might be applied on likewise posterior teeth

    @@user-hd3hy4co1h You can not ensure that you get a proper hybrid layer if you co-cure. You need to cure the bonding agent on tooth surface separately to make sure you get a good hybrid layer. As for sitting issues, you need to completely air thin the bonding agent.

    Quick question Mario, what do you think about curing the bond prior to cement application? Does it make any difference? I see you cure everything all at once, does this give better results? Thanks for sharing!

    @romerodentalseminars

    Louis Barros I cure the adhesive layer prior to bonding the restoration. For me it is critical to have a fully polimerized hybrid layer and curing all at once can create some problems if it does not reach the adhesive layer with the needed energy.
