Big fan of POR 15. I actually fixed a rusty oil pan (that was leaking) with POR 15 and a piece of fiberglass cloth...😆 I usually spray it (to get in hard to reach areas). I take a detail gun, reduce 8 to 1 with urethane reducer and close the spray pattern on my gun to a stream and hose it on--works everytime!

I like the idea of spraying it on, but man oh man, you'd need full body suit as not to get covered yourself! lol

The car is looking good, Jason. I strongly suggest that anyone using POR15 (or any of the proucts like it) should do an amazingly good job cleaning the lid and the top of the can before putting the lid back on. Just a thin film of the stuff will effectively glue the lid on the can. And I'm not kidding. I've seen it stick together so well that you would have thought someone used panel-bond on the cover. Had to cut the cover off. Used properly (prepping and covering for UV) as you did, this will last many years before needing a re-do. The trouble is that many people don't bother degreasing or following the instructions, thinking it's just a ploy to sell more product. Then when it fails they blame the product. Just for the record I've used POR15 and a Canadian product for many years and have no affiliation to either.

@@OldeCarrGuy Yup. It does stay on well. ;) But if you get ANY left on the lid or in the gutter.. you won't ever be getting the lid off in one piece. It's actually very impressive. After that I put the remaining material in a plastic bottle. That worked quite well. Have a good one.

POR15 is great, actually just put some on my quarter panel above the wheel the other day, some rust started peering through the paint on my 2011 CVPI, helps that my car is black too. You did a really good job with those rocker panels, nice work. Enjoying this series a lot. Only suggestion I have is to wear a respirator when you're doing all that stuff, grinding rust, metal prep, POR15, and spray paint are all terrible for the lungs. Your lungs are vital. I bring patients to the cancer center all the time, really sucks seeing them like that. Also, love the look of the 16's on that car, gives it an unexpectedly cool stance. I always liked how the 16's have more of a deep dish look to them. I find the 17's are just too bland looking in comparison.. even though they are the correct wheel for the later models. I'd put some 235/60/R16's on those 16x7's to give em the correct 17" wheel dimensions, would prob give it some racecar vibes that way with the fat sidewalls. I love meats.

Looks like it would have been easier to metal prep / por 15 before installing the new rocker.?

Possibly, but were we had to do welding and such, we didn't want to compromise the cleaned and prepped surface. we'll undercoat the inside of the rockers before we close everything up!

I don't care for por 15 cause of the top coat and the prep. I knock off heavy, spray Ospho and get to work. I use Eastwoods internal frame coating and farm implement paint. Try sanding on a JD dozer. Black beauty coal slag has a time removing it. Also undercoating isn't the best unless it's a topcoat and on brand new, sanded, etc metal. Seen alot of rust under it. Hers what u need, 1 quart of each oil new or used, trans fluid same, 1 tube of grease and 1 wax ring gasket for toilet. Heat up and mix in old pot and spray, brush etc. Costs $6 with used oil n fluid. Lasts longer than ANYTHING u can buy. Lasts longer. Pap worked at Ford in 60s in Ohio. Guy drove a 40s sedan. Pap asked how do u keep it from rusting out? Use what I said. Father used it, I use it and nothing ever rusts. Crap today costs alot, has lil or no oil products and has to be applied yearly. This dont. Also with Ospho u can just use rustoleum over it. If using epoxy rewet, let sit 5 min, rinse, dry with a ir or heat then epoxy. Use home made coating on log trailers, semis, quads, autos etc.
