Populism is a great thing because it would give people a voice.

Good morning dear Sir, Thanks a bunch for this witty interpretation of a fair social "populism". My old German social democrat soul couldn't be happier. In a nutshell one has to change one's perspective from time to time. But presently Europe Is being haunted by a rising unfair populism struggling for power and clandestinely encroaching upon people's welfare and rights, though feigning a social commitment in order to gain votes only. Maybe it is a joke to mean that members of the Democrat party in the US are Demons or perhaps you mean Democracy .... a system of government in which state power comes from the people deciding who will represent them.

Excuse the interjection. But your not quite accurate on this one... Conservatives- 'We will cut taxes' - not heckled as populism. Labour - '4 day working week'- not heckled as populism. Farage - 'We will turn the boats back to france.' BBC hysteria Reform are populists. Its more accurate to say a populist policy which interferes with the current media narative. Its a leftist dog whistle to say 'don't vote for these Nazis' with out saying it. I do sense some achedemic bias ignoring a real bias intrinsic to this term. You will never hear the right say the term populism. Its essentially a leftist heckle.

People just want to be happy . If politicians can't give the people what they need, deaerve or want , they should be doing something else. I don't like this word! It sounds like a vintage car you may see out of the blue and which can make your day.When you see one , you hope you will not see the driver sometimes you think they are devaluing the car Might as well take a cab if you have too! What a life !
