Cavachons are the best. Thank you for this video 🙏🏽❤️ it brought back so many warm feelings. Ours was 15! She was an angel that came into our lives and literally saved the relationship I had with my parents. Cavachons are playful yet sweet and calm at times. They are forever kids. I never thought I could fall in love so deeply. Thank you so much for the puppy videos!

Thank you! I actually don't have to brush Poppy that often. She probably only needs a brush once a fortnight.

We have 10 months old Cavachon, and guess what her name is Poppy too!!! She looks the same too. Very sweet dog - super playful and very attached to Daddy and then Mommy and everyone else

Yep, Poppy used to mouth/bite us quite a lot. What really helped was to fill a small water pistol and squirt them once when they bite. It gives them a little shock, it doesn't hurt them and is super effective! Another great trick it to fill a tin can with screws, marbles ect. and do a quick shake when they bite. This also gives them a surprise. They tend grow out of it though. Anyways, 9 weeks is still very young, so give him/her a chance. They use their mouths to explore everything! Hope this helps!

Can you tell me what she ended up weighing at 12 months? I have a Cavachon puppy 11 weeks. I’m hoping she stays on the smaller side. Her mom was 13lbs & Dad was 17lbs.

We never actually weighed Poppy so I can't tell you sorry. She's pretty small though. I don't think your puppy will get much bigger than her parents. Dogs usually end up similar sizes to their parents.

How long can a cavachon be left in house like example I go store or go work ?

It just depends on your dog. All dogs are different. If your pup is new then maybe watch some vids on how to get them used to you leaving them. Older dogs would be harder to train. I defo wouldn't leave it for ages tho because they are still prone to separation anxiety. Hope this helps xx

Hiii How soon before you brought your cavachon outside? People are saying 12-16 weeks, some say 8!

We took her in the garden as soon as she came home (8 weeks) but we couldn't walk her until a week after her 2nd vaccination (about 12 weeks I think). Hope this helps!

My cavvy didn't like baths, what i did was cover him completely with a towel,pick him up and lower him into the bath. Once in he was fine.

Soft muzzle your dog every time she does it. Sooner or later she will see the muzzle & that'll be all it takes

How big do they got? I thought they are on the smaller size? In the video, she looked big around 1 year old

She's pretty small, but maybe some pics made her look bigger. I think the part where it says she's nearly one,5:26 and 4:42 mins in the video are some of the best indicators of her size right now (even tho a couple of those bits was when she was younger, she hardly grew after 7 months anyway). Hope this helps!

my dog is a Cavachon and completely healthy, not overweight, but is 25 pounds, [cavachons range around 16-18 pounds usually.] the vet said that it is based on the parents, so sometimes you can get smaller ones only at 15-16 pounds and sometimes big ones 18-20 pounds. I'm really bad at explaining but I hope I answered correctly. I am not an expert, this is just what I heard from my vet.

@@katepedro8372 You are right and it's not a fully established breed. So expect high variance in weight. But they tend to be healthy and low maintenance

at what age did you spay your Cavachon? Anybody have idea as to the age for this?

We haven’t spayed her actually. We do plan on maybe having puppies so that’s why. Medically it’s best to spay a dog before it’s first heat though as after the second, third heat etc it greatly increases the risk of mammary tumors. So we will probably never spay Poppy now. Hope this helps :)

@@gardenofeden_music Yes, I have read that regarding spaying before first heat, but since no one knows the exact day of first heat, kind of hard to make appointment. lol My Phoebe is four months old. I adore he!. Also heard if spayed too early, the bigger the puppy grows. Don't know what to think of that. hmmm

Alfred is a bit much." BUT beautiful. Did he get any Obedience training? Archie seems to be laid back and doesn't require so much attention.

Last question, did Poppy ever start digging in the back yard? If yes how did you get her to stop?

@@emccarthy2503 Yes she did a little. We used the same method we used to stop her biting which was a small water pistol to give her a shock straight after biting, digging etc. Sometimes we also shook a tin can with pebbles or something loud to shake to again, give a harmless shock. These items worked really for various little things we didn't want her doing, because she soon associated those things as resulting in an shock of some sort! hope this helps :)
