John the Baptist showed the difference between water baptism and the true saving baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT right at the beginning when he said in Mark 1:7 KJV "And preached, saying, There comes ONE mightier than I after me, the latchet of Whose Shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but HE shall baptize you with the HOLY GHOST." Note: GOD saves a person when, by HIS FREE Grace, HE gives the FREE GIFT of Salvation by indwelling (baptizing/immersing) that person with HIS HOLY SPIRIT forever making that person HIS Habitation and Temple. HE also gives that person repentance and faith in CHRIST and HIM crucified for the forgiveness of all our sins once for all. Through out that true believer's life the HOLY SPIRIT restores and renews that person to a right relationship to GOD not by sacrificing CHRIST over and over again in a mass. Water baptism is merely a physical sign of this glorious spiritual truth.

Everything you just said disagrees with 1500 years of church history. History matters stop being stubborn and just look up what the fathers of the church in the first couple centuries of the church spoke on baptism and the Mass. Here is a sample “As many as are persuaded and believe that what we [Christians] teach and say is true, and undertake to be able to live accordingly . . . are brought by us where there is water, and are regenerated in the same manner in which we were ourselves regenerated. For, in the name of God, the Father and Lord of the universe, and of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of the Holy Spirit, they then receive the washing with water. For Christ also said, ‘Except you be born again, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven’ [John 3:3]” (First Apology 61 [A.D. 151]). Every early church father agreed on baptism

@jacktracy8356 What are you talking about? I've never heard these claims. There is nothing in these Scriptures the church rejects. The Old Testament Catholics have more Scriptures, but the New Testament canon is all the same. I'm not sure where that claim is from, but it is simply false. The Scriptures quoted are truth and are professed as truth. Most of those Scriptures came from truth Himself that is Jesus Christ. Therefore, the church must accept it, or it is not the church.

@@mr.roboto209 Then if you died right now you would immediately go to Heaven, right? Remember, you say you believe that you have everlasting life and are not condemned (all sin forgiven). And why do you go to the unbloody sacrifice of the mass and sacrifice the real presence of CHRIST in a wafer over and over again if you are not condemned (all sins forgiven) and have everlasting/eternal life?

As far as I know, Pope Saint Paul VI said that the incident of the snow has no historical foundation. Up to the year 1000, nothing of the sort had ever been mentioned. The story of the miracle of the snow came into being in the second millennium. Besides, the said Pope removed an inscription depicting the said miracle from the Basilica of Saint Mary Major itself.

@@nrspeed1407 While there is no evidence that the snowfall actually took place, the feast of the Dedication of the Church of Our Lady of the Snows was added to the universal calendar in 1568. In 1969, the name of the feast was changed to its current title, “Dedication of the Basilica of St. Mary Major”.

The feast was originally called Dedicatio Sanctae Mariae (Dedication of Saint Mary's) and was celebrated only in Rome until inserted for the first time into the General Roman Calendar, with ad Nives added to its name, in 1568. A congregation appointed by Pope Benedict XIV in 1741 proposed that the reading of the legend be struck from the Office and that the feast be given its original name. No action was taken on the proposal until 1969, when the reading of the legend was removed and the feast was called In dedicatione Basilicae S. Mariae (Dedication of the Basilica of Saint Mary).
