This video shows you my experience of backwater boating. Poovar Island and backwater located near Kerala -Tamil Nadu border at Trivandrum. This is truly a paradise on earth for all nature lovers!
Boating Price : Starting from Rs.250/- to 500/- per head according to season.[Minimum rate is applicable]
Boat travel duration : 1hr to 3hr
Normal boat seats : 7 Seater
Best view time : In between 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Main attractions : Juncture of the River joining with the Arabian Sea, Floating restaurant & Villas, Nature beauty, Elephant Rock, Mother marry statue, Golden sand beach, Shooting locations, Mangrove forests etc...
Airport : Trivandrum International Airport - 30 km, Railway Station : Trivandrum Central - 30 km, Nemom - 20 km, Neyyattinkara - 10 km Nearest Harbour : Vizhinjam - 14 km

Better to search on google for stay... no need booking for boating.... You can get many boat service in this area... The price starts 300/- per head or 1200/- for boat...

Yes... Couple of hotels are here ...
Avoid agents and directly go with boat drivers. There is other way than main entrance. Do not believe in auto drivers
ഞങ്ങൾ 10 ദിവസം മുമ്പ് പോയി..4 പേർക്ക് 4500 വാങ്ങി... പറ്റിക്കൽ ആണ് എന്ന് ഇപ്പോഴാ മനസിലായത്...

ഇതു പൂവാർ! കായൽ അല്ല മാൻ. പേരിൽ തന്നെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ. ആർ എന്നാൽ പുഴ, നദി എന്നൊക്കെ പറയും. ഈ നദി കടലുമായി ചേരുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ്. കേരളത്തിൽ ഒരു നദി ഒഴികെ ബാക്കി എല്ലാ നദികളും പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ട് ഒഴുകി അറേബ്യൻ സാഗരത്തിൽ ചേരുന്നു. പക്ഷേ മറ്റു നദികളിൽ നിന്നു വ്യത്യസ്തമായി പൂവാറിന്റെ കടലുമായി ചേരുന്ന സംഗമ സ്ഥലം മനോഹരമാണു.
