So true, i found this song through the minecraft revolution and i love it. One of the parts that makes me love it is the clear anti capitalist aspect of the song.

You just brought back a lot of nostalgia. I play D&D and two years ago, I was playing a homebrew campaign based off of a campaign that takes place in the hells. a legion of devils guarding the passageways through the hells were the final bosses, and they were all inspired by songs, namely from Bear Ghost and, wouldn’t you know it, Poor Man’s Poison. The first boss was inspired by this very song. His name was Denivar Gearkrake, a mechanical devil that commands mechanical waiters on a yacht in hell and is powered by the souls of the damned. He essentially looked exactly like the thing on the album cover. This brought back a bunch of fun times.

@@hoonaynanay That wasn’t even me. I was just a player bearing witness to one of the best GM’s I ever had the pleasure to be in a campaign with. This was also just the first boss, there were seven more bosses, each based off of seven other songs. There was a pit fiend with an overbearing mother based off of “Mama’s broken heart by Miranda Lambert”. A drow that was the strongest necromancer in existence based off of the song, “Necromancin’ Dancin’ by Bear Ghost”. A pedophile incubus that was into our child druid and was constantly surrounded by fiendish entities that adored him and cheered him on who was based off of the song, “Starkiller by Bear Ghost”. A kind fiend that had an innumerable amount of personalities because they were cursed to absorb the identity of anyone who became their friend and was forced into servitude in a vain hope it would end the curse, based off of the song, “Haunt, the Cartoon Heart by Bear Ghost”. An incalculably ancient being well learned in long lost magics who wanted to have our Half Orc Barbarian all to herself, represented by the song, “Curses by The Crane Wives”. A red devil that makes deals for power with exotic creatures and curses their bloodline. This was the foil to my character, a changeling wizard, who had his bloodline cursed by a deal one of his ancestors made long ago, and also soon realized his parents were lured into a deal. This irredeemable son of a gun was represented by the song, “Providence”, which like “Feed The Machine”, is also by Poor Man’s Poison. And finally, the final boss was supposed to be the king of hell Asmodeus, who wanted to preform a ritual with a party NPC that would shatter the obligatory contractual dealings that devils have to use in order to affect the material plane. However, this was thrown for a curveball as the NPC, who had been absorbing the essence of the previous enemies, absorbed the essence of Asmodeus, snapping his neck like a twig and revealing herself to be the final boss, The Infernal Queen, represented by the song “Prelude by Bear Ghost”.

I love how people discovered this masterpiece of a song through a freaking Minecraft Revolution. 💀💀

People missing the point that the song is obviously about capitalism and corporations. The song title is literally “feed the machine” It’s about the capitalistic corporate regime and how corporations don’t care about basic human life and how in the COVID pandemic corporations are literally killing their workers. (Amazon, Pepsico etc) the fact Corporations are pushing workers harder and harder. “Hey you feed the machine! Bring em back down to their knees, no time to waste, remind the slaves they ain’t gonna make it out alive today!” We’re all slaves under capitalism. We can’t even die without paying for a coffin. The fact that the U.S economy has taken a sky dive and is squeezing the life out of every minimum wage worker. No one has enough money to pay rent, let alone buy groceries. Meanwhile corporations raise the prices of their products under the pretense of “just doing business” or that they’re “a family company” “Let’s all just blindfold the poor, we must remind them what’s in store. We got em now just break em down a little bit more.” A lot of the older American generation still believe in the “American dream” the honesty and integrity that “as long as you work hard you can get rich and die happy” no one can accumulate that much wealth anymore. So they’re just running on treadmills, going no where; and when their bosses fire them from a job they’ve worked for 40 years it’s only then the harsh reality will creep in.

These comments always make me laugh. You are missing the point, those corporations you speak are WAY beyond typical capitalism. No, you're talking about the corporatists and their globalist supporters, who have taken control of everything, from the media to most of your elected officials. However, this isn't unique to the US, as this has long since been exported to Europe and the rest of the "collective west." Oh Lord I love this song, (disclaimer I will get preachy) this shows that evil will always try to put you down and belittle you. But as brothers we can break away from the machine, our will is stronger than their power. This world will always be throwing you curveballs and gaslight you into the current narrative, you just need to be perceptive enough to see where it is.
