Poor white South Africans blame reverse discrimination

To some extent, the economic playing field has been leveled since the end of apartheid 15 years ago. But that has had another impact - white poverty has doubled since 1994.
Worldfocus special correspondent Martin Seemungal explores the rising poverty in South Africas white community.

It was a very cruel system that was considered a crime against humanity. The scars of that system are still visible today. It will take a while to reverse them, given that the rich got to keep their riches. I don't understand why there is poor Europeans (that's what they classified themselves as) today. Today they are called white South Africans. Take a trip down to the south when covid19 is over. See for yourself. Make a stop by the apartheid museum to learn more about the history of the country. I would call them social injustices, reason, patriarchal system of race will never be seen as equal. Some always want to lead, but not be lead. Our country is slowly dying, and with all the knowledge aquire through studying, upgrading Degrees, Honours and Master, yet we can't Control our human nature to destroy. It sadness me to see anyone living like this. Our Country is in Social destress, a physiological war, a Mental health war, a Social Economic War, not for those who's, the bottom feeders, meant for those on high. The pillars of this land has longtime fallen, there is no repair. As a colored man(I speak for myself and no one else.RMD)in This Country, we always cough vertical in the middle of two horizons and limiting our range on the outlook off progress. Sometimes we succeed, most times we fail as A Nation to regulate the inequities and a Social injustices broken yet created by this palatinate. Knowledge not applied is of nothing, it's an empty mind and we make it up as we go along. What reap you sow. This has been written me RMD, under the action of Freedom of expression (Bill 16. (1) Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, which includes- (a) freedom of the press and other media; (b) freedom to receive or impart information or ideas; (c) freedom of artistic creativity; and (d) academic freedom and freedom of scientific research. and it not intended to the below. (2)The right in subsection (1) does not extend to- (a) propaganda for war; (b) incitement of imminent violence; or (c) advocacy of hatred that is based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion, and that constitutes incitement to cause harm. @Cj Nuwe you're out of touch with reality the apartheid government actually did nothing for the black community, the dignity of black people was stripped long time ago. It's only after '94 that black people had a decency of having flushing toilets and tarred roads, yes there's still so much to be done and the democratic government is actually failing everyone black and white. The truth of the matter black people have never mattered in South Africa, they don't matter today and they have never mattered in the past,it's only our resilience that pulls us through...

I got married to an abusive man just to have someone in my life for the sake of my children. Without any money i decided to start a business,a grocery store and would borrow goods on credit from wholesale shops nearby to pay back same day .That worked magic and surprisinly raised my capital base from the profits i ploughed back into the business. They taught them how to make medicine using the herbs from the earth and the made bath houses which made them get rid of the bubonic plague the smallest African child were extremely literate while the white kings and queens couldn't even talk properly. The educated white men went to school in AFRICA eg Plato Archimedes Aristocrat Aristotle etc. So next time plz do your homework black ppl never did and never had to depend on white ppl for shit. The Muslim Africans actually came to Spain and burned their own ships that they came in because they realized that Europe was underdeveloped and they were not leaving until they helped them. It was until the Spanish men realized how much power and knowledge the Muslim Africans had (they're called the moors) they turned on them. The moors came from North Africa and the Spanish men plundered and killed the Africans from the north to the east to the south and enslaved the ones in the west. It's just what the world would be like if it hadn't been for 5 centuries fashioned exclusively for the benefit of the White man. There we are rather in what must be a world where the laws are not made exclusively for white superiority. But laws that benefit everyone. And the more the white elite who dominate the South African economy had to negotiate not to create a social cover system, because they did not want to share all the gotten wealth with the blacks. But they forgot that they are millions of whites in South Africa, so a part of them without a system exclusively reserved for whites, the weakest whites will live in misery.

They would have been much poorer had they been left to their own devices and the only reason South Africa today is still much better off than almost all other black African nations in terms of poverty is entirely because of the productivity of the white population. The blacks have benefited enormously from living in a country with a large white population.

@ andrew chambers You’re an ignoramus consumed with a sense of entitlement and self importance. European whites stole Africa, Australia, New Zealand, North America (modern day Canada & USA) and South America. Whites displaced and disenfranchised the indigenous people of these lands. They enslaved Africans and built their economies off the lives and sweat of Africans. Without the free labour derived from enslavement, do you think the economy and development of USA will be where it is today? Your people lack humanity and empathy for other races. Examples: 1. USA: Native Americans were rounded up, slaughtered indiscriminately and the remainder were locked up in reservations. Alcohol was introduced into reservations to poison them and lack of basic health care contributed to such high death rates of the Native Americans. Nothing short of genocide. 2. Australia: Aborigines were displaced and disenfranchised in their own country. They were denied jobs and opportunities but, plied with alcohol in their communities which, resulted in high suicide rates. 3. West Africa: your people turned up with their ships, captured and enslaved black Africans to be used as free labour on plantations in America, Caribbean and South America. Blacks were deprived of any form of human rights and nourishment. They were owned, mistreated and often sold as properties of their owners for circa 400 years. After their emancipation, your white ancestors introduced Jim Crow laws and overt discrimination the like of which still affect millions of African Americans till today. They were forced into ghettos, given no education, training, skills to earn a wage etc. I could go on about the atrocities and pogrom white people committed around the world but I’ll leave it to you to study history and learn about the legacies of your white ancestors. Ps, I concur with what others have previously stated that when you’re used to dominating others, equality feels like oppression. The people in this clip have no excuses as they’ve had a head start in life but still can’t capitalise on it. They have themselves to blame.
