Unfortunately if you report a dog in this shape and they are at the groomer the humane society sees it as the owner trying to better the dogs situation.

I think she's a rescue.

How is it possible. Our shih tzu Goes every six weeks to the groomer. He never has one mat because he is brushed every day. Great job.

Mines doesn’t get groomed I groom her and don’t even comb her everyday more like every other day and she has ever had one mat

Many owners believe that the top brushing they are doing is grooming. Unless someone tells them that the coat has to be brushed to the skin, they don’t know. We do a lot of instruction on line brushing on these heavy coated small breeds. The fact that the top knot was not matted, the owner had a little knowledge. Now thanks to a groomer, they know better.

Let hope the poor animal doesn't end up in the same state, can't imagine that top knot with the bow will stay like that for long

I love that with the matted dogs you leave the fur around their face and take the time to detangle it and trim it.. it’s much easier to shave everything.. but u take the time.. that makes you one of a kind.

Love this, poor dog looks, and probably feels 100% better. Had to mute my sound though, as I couldn't stand the repetitive music.

I love short grooms. So slick and clean. The dogs love it too. No skin pulling because of mats. Not sure why all that long hair was left. Owners already proved they dont brush.

Short grooms can mess up the fur, especially if it’s a dog with a double coat. A groom that short is only done on bad cases, like this

Lovely Shih Tzu came out under all dirty hairs. I also have a over 13 years old Shih Tzu & I can't understand why owners don't do her best to give the small boy a better feeling.

My friend had a collie; she had no money for a groomer but she combed that dog every day for 5 minutes; it always looked prim.

LOL what?! Who the fuck cares if a groomer has 'fancy' nails or not.

Poor puppy

It was clear that this dog had a pony tail for weeks. Most of us cannot handle that for more then a day. Having said that, why.... oh why would you not trim the dogs hair so she would not need one in the future? Pony tails should only be for dogs who's owners are looking after them.
