"These do have a pretty squishy butt" I love how you went out of your way to acknowledge, and display, the squishiness of a bug's butt, which nobody was asking about the squishiness of lol It was cute though

The only squish I need to know about is if it’s a fluff butt, so dogs or cats, but never is a bug butt cute enough to squish. I appreciate that he thinks they’re cute enough to fluff
The cricket was kind of freaky until you called it a potato bug, then it became cute

Hi there, life long Oregonian here, I have collected, kept and bred RB’s over the years. They will bite, very uncommon, but they will. They do not strike they just sort of casually latch onto you and chew a little. I spent time in the early 90’s helping Richard Hoyer with field research, learned a lot from that excellent man.

as soon as i saw its face i could picture that haha. they look so friendly!
One day, when I retire, I'd love to make nature exploring a common hobby. I appreciate your respect of the wildlife you encounter. This was a fun and educational video. Thanks!

I support you with that goal. Hold on to it.
I mentioned this before, but I love your polarized vocabulary. You managed to put the genus species of a bug and “twerking” in the same paragraph and sound professional. 😂

musk snakes are such divas, usually harmless and great actors
Hearing you give all of these facts about rubber boas in a serious tone and then hearing "poop snake" in the same sentence has been cracking me up.
man I love how casually you just reach down and scoop 'em up, great video
Love these videos. The U.S is so vast with an amazing variety of wildlife comparatively to the U.K. That Western Longwing Katydid almost looks like it was carved out of stone
I'm so happy I found this channel, it's some of the best, comfiest stuff to watch out there. Thank you for making them!

After scrolling through KZread, I found your video and it is high quality, thorough, and informative, you should be proud of this video sir.
This has the vibe of spontaneously feeling productive late at night, so instead of sleeping you entertain intelligence and knowledge.
i grew up in oregon, on the temperate rainforest side of the cascades, and saw a couple of rubber boas while growing up! they really are incredible snakes.
I use to go up into the southern mountains in Montana and catch these as a kid. Very friendly snakes. Not one to keep in captivity, but they would be happy to wrap around your wrist and just hang out there all day.
The Rubber Boas are so cool very smooth looking as well!
I HATE snakes, spiders and bugs, but I love your channel. It makes me feel in control while watching and that helps me not feel as afraid IRL. I now have a spider living in my bathroom and I have not tried to kill it
I had no idea that the Rubber snake or poop snake existed! It's a cute little guy too, and looks like their skin is too big for them. I also like the fact that it's so chill when you pick it up. It's be a nice snake to have as a pet. But, for beauty I think the gopher snake is by far the winner, the markings on them are insanely beautiful! I also like the wandering Garter snake too, I've never seen one with spots , the only grater snakes I see in my neck of the woods are the ones with yellow and red stripes down the length of their bodies.
Hello, I hope this finds you well! I came across your youtube channel and I have been watching all the videos over and over again for the last two day. Dude, garter snakes are fast. I live in Washington, we have them here too. The fact that you CAUGHT one, let alone handled it is impressive to me.
Wow. Fantastic video. Great little nocturnal expedition.

Fantastic video! I love this! I will look to find these snakes for my property, and not fret as much on potato bugs. Can't wait to see more.
I came for the ‘poop snake’ yet got so much more. 🤙
I live in central Oregon. Love finding rubber boas, very cute and sweet snakes. Never heard anyone call them 'poop' snakes lol.
Very cool that ur in oregon! I was in the desert here earlier this summer and saw some scorpions, camel spiders, and gopher snakes. Wish we had seen a rubber boa though!
i had a jersulem cricket get into my parents' garage while i was visiting once, lost track of it, and then found it again because it started thwacking itself against the floor. apparently it thought there were chick crickets in the garage that was also my first time seeing a live one in person (i'd seen ONE before, dead and encased in a plastic bubble in a museum) and it was very surprising to me how thicc they are. i ended sweeping him back out onto the street with a broom. hope he found some of those chick crickets, idk
Wow the moths love your flashlight
Poo Snakes? I loved those dudes in Blue Dragon.
I found a rubber-boa at my grandma's house once. I was super excited, because usually I could only find garters. They're very gentle and cute lil' guys :)
Thanks for these, totally enjoy them.

Bruh,,You felt a bugs ass!😂
I found a rubber boa when i was out vamping on mercer Island in washington. Calmest snake ive ever handled in the wild.
Good morning, General. I have subscribed.
These guys are illegal to keep where I live, but I just set up areas for them to live outside on my property. They get a spot to congregate and breed, while helping me control the rodents. Win-win. They're awesome, and super tame even though they're wild.
I remember being surprised and concerned about a 2 foot rubber boa that I found in MT in November, but despite being slowed down in the frosty cold, it seemed fine and went on its way.
I love your content! 😊
Saw several nice agates on the ground in this video. . . You're in the right area for 'em. :)
Ive only come across your channel 3 times now but with each video im very impressed by how much i learn about the animals as well as your vocublary. Your channel is severley underatted, truly hope your channle grows much larger and youve definitely earned a new subscriber!!!!👍💯

There was noise there though, it's just very low volume. It sounded like someone rubbing two small pieces of metal together, like two keys or something.

I have found many in the mountains of Northern Utah. I kept one for a couple weeks once. Do you think it's the same or a subspecies? It's in the northern Great basin.
I saw a wasp earlier. epic
When are you gonna make another mantis video
Thanks for another cool video. I don’t think I’ve ever caught a garter snake that didn’t release musk. Maybe you could tell me: I live in Emery County in Utah. Do you know what species of camel spider lives here? I’ve been fortunate to find a few actually inside my apartment-haven’t tried looking outside. I tried to identify them, but could only narrow it down to a couple of genera with the photos I got. It’s been a while, but I believe it’s a species that has no ‘hairs’ on the legs and double claws. Only 1 of the 5 or so I’ve found was much over an inch long.
@GeneralApathy

It is possible that a few species can be found in that county, but yours are very likely in the genus Eremobates. I do not think I can narrow it down further than that unfortunately.
@valiantwarrior4517

@@GeneralApathy Thank you so much, sir! Using the genera list for that family, I found a site that lists specimens of Eremobates ctenidiellus found in this city. From the description details, I believe that is what I’ve found. I really appreciate the help!
I always called them grasshoppers
*_Katydid:_* 😁😬
Yoo a new video!
last snake is funny
Bro what are you going to do if you sneak up on bigfoot out there lol. I noticed over in west Texas the common brown scorpion loves to group up around and under cardboard boxes. I had a job in Abilene, and we couldn't set a box down for more than a few nights and they would be 5 to 10 of them all different sizes.
Why are they called "poop snakes"? Is it just an appearance thing or what? Either way, hilarious vernacular 😂
Arkansas vegetable gardeners talk about a rubber boa but I don't think it's the same as yours. They say when you encounter a rubber boa in your garden if you try to chop it with your hoe the hoe will merely bounce off the snake as if it war a car radiator hose. I don't know what they were talking about and it may only be a legend. But in Arkansas it is a struggle to keep your feet away from cottonmouths, copperheads, and gentle 6' long blacksnakes. I moved from Arkansas to Israel for a year and when I would walk to my job in my turkey house a 6' long blacksnake would come out of the bushes and slither along beside me for some ways every morning for about a month. We were fellow commuters going to our job together. A snake can smile by lifting its head so the upturned corner of its mouth shows. We were normally about 3' apart but since blacksnakes are absolutely not harmful I had no fear whatsoever. 10 years later in Dallas I was looking at a book on Israeli wildlife: Israel doesn't have 6' long blacksnakes. My friend was a cobra.
damn bruh you are in my neck of the woods! whatchu doin out here? 😂
