Pools in Florida | What We Did RIGHT and What We Did WRONG! | Our Lakewood Ranch Pool Story

Pools in Florida - What we did RIGHT and what we did WRONG on our Lakewood Ranch Pool
Our pool video that we posted a few years ago had some great information, but a lot has changed since then. And we've also learned a lot as pool owners and realtors in the area for the last four years. So, thi is an update and we share some new information and lessons we've learned about pools.
So let's go to pool school, part two.
If you are thinking of moving to Florida, you are probably wondering if you need your own pool. A few years back, we did a video on pools and answered some questions, shared information, and tried to give you an idea of what it would cost to build a pool.
Well…. Things have changed since then and we have learned a lot. SO, in this video, we want to provide an update, share our Pool story and some of the MISTAKES we made, and give you a behind the scenes look at how to care for a Florida pool.

Heat pumps work well in Florida. They are way more economical than gas. I have a pool in Sarasota that I keep 85+ degrees all year. Costs about $100 a month in the winter to heat 10k gallon pool. Just make sure to put a cover on the pool because evaporation is the quickest way the pool looses heat.

Hi Michael, this is Jimmy and Sally. We also have travertine and the pool builder told us to use Wet and Forget solution to spray on the travertine. It works like magic. It prevents algae growth for about 3 months until the next spray. Of course you need to pressure wash your travertine before spraying again.

Courtney & Michael: You two are funny. Half way through the video we knew that we would hire someone to keep our pool up to speed. No, seriously we knew it would take more than we have strength-wise to keep the pool maintained.
