If I'm repairing cracks on similar pool deck do I need to grind area cracked area down to put acrylic texture back on?..

Need voice over, so we know what you are doing/using.
Grinder, pressure washer, texture sprayer, a paint roller and a brush for smaller areas. Hahaha
