#Ponmudi kashmir of Kerala (Trivandrum)- Budget Picnic Spot Elevation is 1,100 m (3,600 ft) Ponmudi is a hill station 55 km away from Trivandrum railway station and 58 km away from Trivandrum international airport. There are 22 hairpins on this road and the drive through the forest is a good experience. We can spot a lot of small waterfalls in the forest near the road and we can taste Kerala traditional chai tea in the roadside tea shop which is available in Ponmudi hill station. The most interesting feature of Ponmudi is that fog comes suddenly and sometimes you can't even see anything around you and the heavy wind is also a specialty. It is a popular honeymoon spot in south India. On the way to Ponmudi, you can go to Meenmutty waterfalls, Kallar River also. The bike ride is good to feel nature and chillness. The weather is awesome during the rainy season (June - Oct) and also during the winter season (Nov- Feb mid). If you are planning to visit on monsoon holidays please google weather conditions. If it is showing below 28C, you will have a good trip. The weather will swing in the summertime and make sure that you check the weather on the same day which you are planning the trip. There is a restaurant on the hilltop and you can use a toilet facility without any charges and its quite neat. If you are foody, please fill your bag at vithura (nearest town).
