It's delivered so whimsically but the visual is kinda horrifying- 😂

I love how Pongo is just terrifying but ultimately just innocent and a good boy. Also, the sheer look of trauma and horror on the poor boy's face after hearing Grandma's sins...

“ we got him 36 hours ago!” Had me dying 😂

Love the twist ending. Was expecting it to go super dark and Pongo like shove her in the hole or something but great way to reverse expectations with a callback.

The entire family has been converted by the sinister inhuman pull of Pongo. The one holdout, the mother, with enough will to put up a fight, was still, in the end, helpless to resist Pongo's senseless, brain-melting stare and succumbed, with just a single touch of his smooth paw. The world beyond the suburban gate is next, and the universe beyond. I think the ending was pretty fucking dark.

I loved the meatball sketch with her and Chris Redd. Right amount of silly and random

One of my favorite things about this is that it’s a Sarah sketch where Sarah isn’t the weird thing that’s happening, she’s reacting to it instead. Of course she’s great at the weird stuff but she really shines in this sketch without being the weird one.

She is such a great foil in a straight woman routine. I'd watch her in a movie if it was just her being normal reacting to an increasingly insane world.

I kinda want a Pongo now, and I think you can hear the audience echo the same sentiment. Like "we know we're supposed to laugh at how creepy this is, but where can I buy one".

My aunt had a dog like Pongo. Would just sit and stare off into space for hours. Never made a sound. Was more like a decoration than a dog sometimes lol

Him running like a spider was both creepy and hilarious at the same time.

The right balances of weird ,and cute. Easily my favorite sketch of the night 😂.

The sketch's tone reminds me very much of a Bill Hader sketch that was cut for time, The Alan. Although, that one just gets darker.

This skit is amazing, and Sarah’s acting is so great in this. The slow building horror from the “he… can’t die?” To “this is insane!” Was so great!

Now I'm imagining Pongo at the grandma's funeral. He's not supposed to have emotions, but she was nice and told funny stories about killing her third husband. And now she's gone. Pongo, still staring, still smiling, feels a single tear trickle down his face.

Pongo is just the right amount of creepy I need in a pet. And no holes and always moist are the features people really want.

Absolute gold. One of the best SNL shorts in a long time. And hats off to Sarah for being her usual brilliant self.

I instantly thought of that the second I saw Pongo

The more Sarah dials back the funny, and tries to act like a real (or crazy) person, the funnier she is. Some of the funniest sketches include an actor/actress acting as serious and real as they can. People like Woody Harrelson and Adam Driver do this really well.

Even Starting with Season 1, Episode 1, which i watched as a teen, in an hour and a half there were always a couple of second rate sketches. Especially the SNL muppets. Painful to watch

I love how the sketch started off so lighthearted and it took such a dark turn with the mom. Definitely a favorite!

I can't wait to see Sarah Sherman get all the success in the world. She is such a joy to watch!! INSTANT hit from her first sketch! It was the meatball one, right? I think... 😂

I love that Sarah is being given the freedom to realize her "comedy/horror" ideas. She's becoming the new maven of snl digital shorts! Surely no one reads the comments or looks for ideas here... But I'd love to start seeing some of the scenarios she set up evolve and come back. I just rewatched Meatballs and thought it'd be hilarious to make a sequel where meatballs have become a global pandemic or a required sex Ed film in schools.. Etc. Just an idea that you're probably already working on... Anyhow! Love Sarah and glad she's found folks at snl that indulge/produce her wild ideas!

Appreciate the cinematography angles in this skit, all so well considered

Sarah's breakdown at the end gave me huge Joan Cusack "Debbie" from "Addams Family Values" vibes.

If you mix a chainsaw with Pongo, you got yourself the chainsaw devil dog from Chainsaw Man!

I saw a robot dog decades ago. It did some pretty impressive dog like moves. Then I realized, after watching him for a few minutes, that it was the same stuff over and over and that was all that he did.

Sarah and Kate are so good at horror ❤ 😂

Sarah was fantastic in this! In the sketches she stars in, she usually plays a very absurd character surrounded by normal people, here, it's reversed, and she is the (relatively) normal one surrounded by people acting absurdly. It's a great flip that works well for her!

The family didn't waste any time giving an answer to the mom's ultimatum. 😄

Whoever wrote this one, keep letting them because these ones are gold!

Awwww, there were a few moments there where I thought this was gonna transition into a raw horror sketch BDG style
