I loved going to either the Ponderosa or Bonanza steakhouse. It made think about Little Joe, Hoss, Adam and Pa Cartwright..lol. Dan Blocker actually started the chain with one in Connecticut. Always a great meal there. Everything ya'll had looked so very good, and fresh! Glad ya'll are enjoying your vacation. Looking forward to where else you will be taking us. That's really cool - we had no idea that Dan Blocker started the chain. We're with you - we always hear the Bonanza theme song whenever we think of Ponderosa. I was just there last week during my Disney World trip

Grew up on Ponderosa every weekend after church as a kid, sadly as you know the one in Hillsboro is the only one left here in Ohio. Ponderosa had the best all you can eat salad bar.

I used to love eating at Ponderosa, their buffet was so good! In PA we have a place called Hoss’s, it has a good soup and salad bar, but nothing like Ponderosa…and yes I remember how good the chicken wings were! Hope you guys are having a great time in FL!

Ponderosa takes me back to my childhood in the 90s. Although the selection we have here in Qatar is different than what's in the U.S. especially the sweets section.

It was a really good meal.

We used to have a Ponderosa Steak House very close to our home. It closed and the building was renovated to a funeral home. If I need to go to a viewing, I have the smell of steaks 🥩! It has to be psychological because the steak house was our go to place being nearby.

There used to be about 20 Ponderosas in Puerto Rico. After the CoVid-19 pandemic most closed and never reopened. There are still about 5 or 6, but they have a simplified menu. There is a breakfast buffet, but after about 12:00 there is just a salad bar, albeit a good salad bar with some deserts.

Agreed! There's so much nolstalgia with Ponderosa and Bonanzas. Sadly, they seem to be closing down quickly. Hopefully they'll be able to hang on.

It was definitely a lot of choices. The lobster with Old Bay seasoning was so delicious.

Our family went there to eat a lot on Sundays after church. It was always a treat! So sad that they aren't around here anymore. The last one closest to me here in IN closed during the Pandemic. :( Thanks for sharing EDIS!

I miss that restaurant in Utah .. looks as good as the Amish buffet .

I grew up eating ponderosa. I’m sad that most are gone now. Also shoneys. Those were the only 2 restaurants my parents would ever take us.

This place reminds me a lot of a restaurant I used to go to as a kid called Ryan’s. But looking at those prices I’m not surprised this place is almost out of business 😳

We agree - Ryan's was a great buffet too. All of the Ryan's around here were closed down and auctioned off in late 2020.

Usually Henry uses both ketchup and mustard on his hot dogs, but smothered it in ketchup on this day lol. Sadly, there aren't any Ponderosas remaining in Oklahoma. We completely understand where you're coming from. We've been to some questionable locations before, but this one and the one up in Hillsboro were really clean. At this location, they were constantly wiping down the buffet area and tending to the buffet area. We hope that you had a great weekend, Michael!

Michigan still has the most Ponderosas of any state, followed behind with Ohio - which has 3. We're glad to hear that you still get to enjoy this nolstalgic steakhouse.

Their wings were so amazing. We were disappointed when the wings that we tried on this day weren't great, but the sirloin tips and lobster made up for it :) We hope that you're having an awesome week, Aerial.

I was so happy that the claw coughed up two balls for the boys. I respect that Gentry is a purist when it comes to Rice Krispie bars. It is sad that buffets are going out of existence. Especially in the South there were some regional buffets with fantastic home cooking.

my brother loved ponderosa as a kid. always chose that place for his birthday. our local one is now a mexican restaurant:/ and i love henry’s intro - “woooo”

We're sorry to hear this. The one that was closest to us growing up is now a Mexican Restaurant as well. It's call El Dorados and while their food is good, we wish it was still a Ponderosa.

I just watched company man's video on the restaurant chain and was wondering if there were any left in florida (I'm in Tampa) and noticed the only one left close to WDW. My family and I are WDW passholders and we normally eat on property. But my partner has a lot of memories eating at ponderosa as a child. So we might just visit this place on our next trip to Disney. From what I been hearing, they are probably going to disappear for good one day, so we might as well revisit one last time.

My aunt used to work at ponderosa in earlier years I think in Florida

Sadly Ponderosa is on life support. In a short few years Ponderosa along with a few other chains will be gone.

We agree. Although we had a good experience at this location, it was nearly empty aside from a couple of other tables. We drove by here a few days prior to visiting and we thought that they were closed down because the parking lot looked vacant. Still one in Vandalia, IL!!!!!!

Was there tonight... dirty. Food all had a skin on it. Chef came to answer what soup it was... her mouth was covered in food which flew everywhere as she spoke. We paid over 110 dollars. Staff were not interested and we were made feel unwelcome... we left without finishing a small plate of food.. disgusting and if this isn't closed soon then I would be surprised.. we have either been sick or felt sick... an embarrassment for the once good restaurant.

We're so sorry that you had a bad experience at this location. We went here when the doors were first opening so all of the food was fresh (aside from their chicken wings....we have no idea what was going on with those). Ponderosa is definitely not at the same caliber that it was in its hay day.

We had one here until it burned down and they didn't rebuild it and that was years ago

A little helpful here if you was to get microphones for each person that Clips on then you might be able to be heard when you guys whisper in the restaurants also it'd be a less chance of harming other people situation just saying little help for you otherwise love your videos keep them up

Thanks for the recommendation, Christopher. We actually have some wireless mics that we’ve used in many previous videos; however, we lost one of the adaptors on this trip. We couldn’t find an electronics store that sold the adaptor. It has to be purchased directly through the manufacturer. We have another one on the way and we’ll be back to using our clip on mics again soon. Sorry for the poor audio quality.

HEY. Don't trash talk the Hillsboro location. I get a catered dinner from them once a month and it's exactly what is expected. It's not 5 star dining but it's good. The soups are great, And the chicken tenders are amazing! So yeah, don't trash talk. It makes you seem petty.
