    Beautiful day for hiking Jim! You had amazing views all around! It must be great to hike all the mountains in the area and get a view and perspective from each! The old house looks so cool! Wouldn’t it be great if they fix up the house, or at least maintain it as is so it won’t totally fall down. I love that you live close to so many states and you’ve got great trails in each one. Fun tri-state marker! 👌😄👍👍 Hope you had a great day yesterday! 🎉🎉

    Yes,I often think about the ''what if'' they would fix it up but I guess they figure if they did some idiots would just do the same thing and destroy it again.It's a beautiful area and I would have loved to own and live up there. Thanks Jen!

    Hi Jim! Loved that you hit some Game Lands! We have found at times those areas can be just as interesting or beautiful as the major State Parks! Sounds like you had a SUPER windy day - lol! Loved seeing Mt Rogers & Wilburn Ridge in the background there - that is one of our FAVORITE areas in VA - so pretty! Looks like a great little camp spot that someone made there so close to the parking lot! We just love the big open bald areas - you can see SOOOO much! Interesting little house out in the middle of nowhere - that had to be an awesome property in it's day! Loved the tri-state marker! NC, VA AND TN all in the same hike - AWESOME! Thanks for putting "another one in the books" - Happy Hiking!

    Awesome hike and a whole lot of finger pointing! Momma said it wasn't nice to point. LOL. I knew you would find Grandfather mountain in those views. The tri-state area is neat. I wonder if anyone has drank a CZ in all three states at the same exact moment. New challenge for you! LOL. Have a great day.

    Great views all along that trail. What an ideal spot for that house. I would have liked to have seen it before it was abandoned, I bet it would have looked very nice. Loved the tri-state marker! Cool. 👍👍

    It's one of my favorites and the views are hard to beat from up there. The old home is becoming more and more of an eye sore these days which is shameful. That is the highest elevation tri state corner in the eastern US if I remember correctly. Thanks so much for watching!

    You're finding some nice vantage points for views! Was to one area last week and have found that many views have been grown over with trees. I'd say them poles are trespassing!! lol Or, maybe in a state of confusion! Sorry...lol Another great adventure! Bruce and Otis

    Nice car camp spot at the beginning. Awesome abandoned building. Great views. How far did you have to travel to get your trekking poles from those other states? LOL!

  • @JimHayesHiking

    @JimHayesHiking

    Yes,you can car camp at that spot a few months out of the year when the second gate is opened but all other times of the year you have a mile or so hike up to that point. It took me a very long time to retrieve my poles from all 3 states,lol! Thanks John!
