POM Vipers 90's Team

I recall, as a child growing up, we would pack plastic bags and old newspapers into empty Vita Juice packets and used as rugby balls.
We would imitate some of the players from then, the Port Moresby Vipers Rugby League Club.
The famous players would be Marcus Bai with his corner dive tries which we called "stunt tries" Aquila Emil with his "side steps" and the most famous move of all was the "tuksy" by Tuksy Karu.
The tuksy move was to flick the ball over the opponents head, run past him and catch it behind him and to top it off with a post try celebration also a move by Tuksy Karu, is to lay under the uprights with your head rested on the ball. These moves are shown in the video.
All these moves were legal, as long as they represented a player from the Port Moresby Viper Rugby League Club back than.
The Port Moresby Vipers Rugby League Club was very competitive. The even played in the Australian NRL Panasonic 9's.
The last game the Port Moresby Vipers Rugby League Club played in The Australian NRL Panasonic 9's was in the year 2000, against Canberra Raiders in the trophy finals. Even though they lost, they finished of with a warming victory lap as though they had won.
