POM POM ISLAND [SEMPORNA]
Pom Pom Island is a small coral reef island in the Sulawesi Sea about 30 kilometers northeast of the city of Semporna, Sabah, East Malaysia.
The island is 2.3 kilometers in circumference at the high tide line with a fringing coral reef 4 kilometers long. The island is flat sand with a maximum height of less than 2 meters above the HT line. The flat reef is only 50-75 meters wide to the west and several hundred meters around most of the islands. The island has white sand coral beaches and is an important nesting site for green turtles and sea turtles. Relatively undeveloped, this island is one of the most popular diving destinations in the Semporna district.
