A tech decisions video would be super helpful; a lot of beginner (or even intermediate) level players make such mistakes.

Yep, definitely. This is totes one of the things most keeping me from fully passing from beginner to intermediate in skill I guess. I almost always purchase all techs practical for the map; now finding that no, better players don't do that.

It is rarely worth it to maximize your cities. Usually that happens in water world maps where there isn't a lot of cities to capture, or just a lenghtened stalemate where you don't really have a more efficient use for your stars.

So true
I appreciated the last part about when you kill opponents units to be mindful of the star trade. I get the concept, maybe more examples of this and when it’s good to do and not good to do? Thanks for the vid as always

Yeah, this seems to be in demand along with a video on tech choices. Thanks for watching!

basically if you have two units of equal strength like a rider, let the enemy attack first, unless its beneficial to weaken them, because if you attack first, then on their turn they now can destroy your unit and also gets one exp towards becoming a veteran which makes them stronger when a unit does become a veteran.
@yooooooooooooooo696

@@blackwaltz3135with riders you want to attack first since they do really poor retaliation damage.
To add on to the common mistake of not balancing military and eco, I find in my experience that most players tend to be on the greedy side. If you're not sure if you're balancing your army and eco well enough, odds are that you're probably making too few units. You want to be able to control all parts of the map before your opponent can, rather than letting them expand with no issues whatsoever.
You should definitely make a guide for the tech tree for the polytaur tribe. (Sorry I don't know how to say the tribe) the guide will help because you can't burn trees and has a unique playstyle.

I do plan on making guides for each tribe, so stay tuned for that

Is there even any opponents in 600?
A Tech Guide per civilization would be very useful.
A technology video would be grate I always struggle with that 👍
I not consider my self a beginner. I am at 1300 elo but this video still helps me! I must remember to don't throw games for going full economy for example. I would love to have also a video explaining what tech you should buy. Obviously it depends of the match but there are lots of game (with new mechanic "in live") where I loss way too much time thinking on the tech to buy
Maybe a deeper dive into star trade? Good video!
@GullYYGamer

good idea!
The last point is a bit oversimplified, for example the same road can be used by another unit to help kill an enemy unit in future turns. This complicates the equation of how many stars is used to kill a unit. Very informative video.
1:48 Yes pls
For the max cities, I like doing this as polaris closer to end-game when its a race to see who gets the most super units.
Amazing video! A video explaining which technologies in which situations would be amazing.

I can make that happen, thanks for watching
Gullyy too good. Game unplayable. Needs nerf.
Like some other said, a video about the tech tree would be great! I already subscribed so I don´t miss it :D
A mistake I see my friends do all the time is attaching themselves to a tech that they think is very strong all the time, without considering the drawbacks of the current situation. One of my friends still just rushes chivalry every game because he can’t except that knights aren’t the best unit in the game no more 😅
@gavinw.6626
Жыл бұрын
I’m new to the game. What’s better than rushing knights?
@GullYYGamer
Жыл бұрын
Essentially you need to look at your current position and determine what units are needed. If your opponent has a bunch of unprotected catapults lined up, maybe knights are in order. If your opponent has knights themselves, maybe consider smithery and swordsmen

@@GullYYGamer I see. My friend always rushes roads and then knights every game, so I (a absolute noob) am studying counters.
Been playing for over 5 years but the temptation is still strong to get a workshop in every single town. Also to optimize for the most longterm efficient high level town instead of just upgrading a town quickly to the point I need
Hey its me sante from 2020, its been awhile lmao. I still watch your videos and i enjoy them.
My favorite tip to do is that when you have the Bardur Tribe always lvl up the capital then dont take any villages until you get the catapult tech now if you have researched the catapult tech then try to slowly lvl up your current cities and expand though make sure to always have vision since catapults are very fragile and useless if you cant see your opponents troop Also if you have the catapult tech you also get the sawmill which is pretty useful if you have lots of forest lumberhuts! If lucky you can quickly lvl up your city and get your first giant immediately
Video on tech choosing would be much appreciated! Thanks for the content =*

If you have a customs house economy you can actually get away with the spiritualism/chivalry route. I did it once in a game where i simply had too many stars and I won. (It took around 50 turns though)
Love your channel

What is aquarion good for like it confuses that they live in water tiles but can't travel on water tiles
When I play in 900 tile maps I often have a level 9 city because of the enormous amount of cities connected to the capital

Please make a guide on the tech tree plz!!!
How do you beat hoodrick? Seems to stack archers on me and beat me every time. I play 1v1 multiplayer with bardur. Tiny map and just under 1200 elo. Started playing multiplayer this past weekend
I want the video for the which tech branch should I invest in
Can i suggest making a video series for beginners on how to play each tribe early game, lets say first 10 turns, itd be 15 videos since there’s 16 tribes cause hoodrick doesnt get one
@GullYYGamer

It's a great idea, but a little unfeasible for the first 10 turns because so many different lines open up as the game progresses. I do plan on making videos on how to play each tribe in the future though!
I always go with the spies

Yes PLEASE go into which branch to pick. That’s the most difficult thing for me.
all the educational stuff is nice yeah, but i would like some just entertaining videos sometime
Im new can you rate my army? Its like 1 line - knight 2 line - shield man 3 line - archers 4 line - healers
I will admit, you should upgrade your cities a little because I've had a lot of times where I needed backup units and the city was at Max capacity of units
whenever I'm starting a new game of polytopia, I never immediately attack
Excuse me I can as something? Why do when I long press something in polytopia nothing pop out like yours do

my strategy is hammering people with 10 catapults
I hope more free tribes I would love to see this game in esports battle royale
me watching this hoping i havent done any of these

I’ll take that 1 stare production over scouts to my grave

This is a video aimed at beginner players to help them improve. I agree that you don't need to try-hard every single game, but if you're struggling then it may be worth taking a look at your playstyle
I think the game is good but COMPETLY PAY TO WINlike u wanna play online but u HAVE TO BUY a tribe to play online like it just makes the game pay to win, there are default 3 tribes isnt it wnought for multiplayer, i think they MUST make multiplayer impossible for free to plays
