Polynomials - Classifying Monomials, Binomials & Trinomials - Degree & Leading Coefficient
This algebra video tutorial provides a basic introduction into polynomials. It explains how to identify a monomial, binomial, and a trinomial according to the number of terms present in an algebraic expression. it also explains how to identify all of the terms in a polynomial as well as their respective coefficients. It discusses how to identify the degree of the polynomial as well as the leading term and leading coefficient of the polynomial. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another well explained video/lecture on Introduction to Polynomials-Classifying Monomials/Binomials/Trinomials in Algebra One. These are well known topics in all of Pure and Applied Mathematics.
I've been struggling with this polynomial a long time ago that I felt my grades will suffer but with your teaching, I'm confident that I will make a good one. Thanks man👍👍

Great job. Thank you very much! I like watching your videos because you actually take your time in explaining these concepts. I'm struggling with modular arithmetic, multiplicative inverse, and congruents. Could you please make a video about that? Thank you kindly.
Please i need to know the video were i can fine the "alpha, beta roots of quadratic?"

This is a very good explanation. Keep it up. Thanks
7 is actually not a coefficient it’s a constant because it does not follow or multiply a variable.... at least I think, correct me if I’m wrong

is degree the same as the order of the polynomial?

hi! how can you identify the coefficients and the degree with these expressions: 3/4 (a+b) and 3 (x+y) - 6x^3 y^5 - 5x^2 y^2 + 7 ???

Rank, Order &Degree of a poly nomial =? 1-No. Of tatal variable is rank of one. 2-The total no. of term is order of one. 3- The highest power of term is degree of polynomial.

Thought the same too
Thank you again for yet another concise and calm presentation! I really like your style. A number's or variable's identity-degree, 1, is itself, as in x^1=x, and it's zeroth degree is always 1, as in x^0 = 1. Conversely, a constant's coefficient degree of 0 is itself, as in 7 is zeroth degree of constant. This doesn't make sense, considering previous geometric proofs of squares and cubes, until we see that it is assumed in this convention, of the form: ax0, where 'a' is the constant coefficient, multiplied by x^0, which is always 1.
@ultimatekelvin1235

I was thinking the same. So therefore, the degree of 7 is 1?
Can someone please answer... Cause there a question here that said: "3x²1-yz+yz²--2xyz+4y²-z²" and the degree is 6 but the highest is 3...
Sir, what is the leading term, coefficient, degree of the polynomial 8x(degree of x=2)y+5xy+2xy(degree of y=2)+4

7:16 It does not have a power of zero coz anything to the power of zero is equal to one(1) & as you you had mentioned earlier , that 8 is a constant , so it cannot become 1 as its value is fixed. Please correct me if I'm wrong :)

Degree 4,2,0 distracted me but really good explanation
4:24 But , isn't 7 to the power of 0 = 1 ?
The degree is 0 for 7? or 1?
Would a binomial count as a polynomial?
thank you for saving me i was about to fail math

How do u get the term
We call the polynomial with many terms "multinomial"
