    You are most welcome, lady!! I hope you will be able to use this technique to your advantage. If you haven't check out my other videos on the transfer technique, I suggest doing so, especially the latest one on the "Polymer clay liquid transfer & storage tutorial: Transfer Technique Perfected..." I was still trying to perfect this technique and it addresses the best way I found to do this transfer and how to deal with the liquid clay when it becomes hard. Sending you my big hugs! :)

    Thank you so much, lady!! I am so thrilled you got so much out of this video!! Tickles me pink!! LOL!! It is my goal to produce videos that not only teach but also inspire you to explore and create in the clay and find joy!! I have found the image transfer technique to always be a technique that was never quite “completely explained”. And I still believe there is more to discover here. But I hope my videos on this technique have “unmuddied the waters” some. Again thank you lady, and sending you my biggest hugs!! 🤗❤️👍🏻

    Also, what do you do with these once you peel them up? You showed the jar, so do you glue them onto a jar?

    I hate to disappoint anyone...I am using a laser printer here. It's the heat that makes that ink transfer into the clay. But, I do hope you will consider trying this technique!! It has been a godsend for me recently. For quite awhile I have been doing the heat transfer with regular polymer clay...this has been a total game changer for me. And I do hope it will be that way for you as well. Hugs, ladies!! :)

    One more thing...I might not have an ink jet printer...but I suggest trying to "think outside the box" on how you might approach trying to get an image off of an inkjet printer. Who knows...you might discover some wonderful way of getting a transfer from an ink jet, that others would also benefit in your discoveries...Again, sending each of you my hugs! :)

    how about inkjet printing on acetate and then using clear clay liquid

    I wish I could speak more to this process, but I don’t own an inkjet printer. When I invested in a printer, I made sure it was a laser printer because I knew I could create transfers using prints from this kind of machine. The main reason this particular technique works is because it is based on heat. Something the clay and the printer both need to work. An inkjet doesn’t require heat (as far as I know) and because of that, puts the inkjet printer at a disadvantage. This all being said…EXPERIMENT!! Be your own researcher, your own Sherlock Holmes, your own Di Vinci! If you can find a great way to get a transfer easily from an inkjet that would be so freaking awesome!! Plus, I and many others would love to hear about it!! Sending you my biggest hugs!! 🤗❤️👍🏻

    This was really interesting. More than likely the wax paper melted than the freezer paper got stuck. Since my printer is brand new I’m not about to even try. Wonder how it would work on photograph paper? I have an ink jet. Not sure if you were using a laser or ink jet.

    I am definitely using a laser printer. I have only ever known that transfers were always done with a laser printer. I never did learn about the ink jet one. And I didn't even realize you could get a transfer from an ink jet other than what I have seen here on KZread. Sending you my big hugs!! :)

    Laura, have you used your liquid clay transfers on polymer clay jewelry? If so, do you adhere it to the raw (or cured?) clay surface with more transparent liquid clay?

  • @laurajschiller

    @laurajschiller

    2 ай бұрын

    Yes. Definitely. In fact if you check out the AI Generated images video...those images were all done with the transfer technique. And I do believe it could go both ways. It would just depends upon how the transfer is attached into the jewelry piece. The importance here has always been on how thin I could get that transfer. Plus, you might be interested in the 3rd video I did on this subject..."Polymer clay liquid transfer & Storage tutorial". This one really perfected how thin you could get the transfer and how to use every ounce of that liquid clay. I do hope I helped here. Sending you my big hugs! :)

It has been fun and for some of the things I create, a game changer. Sending you my hugs!! :)

    Actually if you go into the video, I do have the paper featured right at the beginning of the segment on the laser paper. And I do show the box. It is really the one paper I suggest using....of all my experimentation...the one I suggest to print and create your transfer off of . And you are most welcome, Miss Ramona!! Sending you my big hugs! :)

    Your cartooning paper sounds like marker paper. It’s made for use with alcohol markers and inks, it’s very smooth. I’ve printed on freezer paper for other projects, if you adhere it to a normal sheet of paper you’ll get fewer problems with it jamming.

  • @laurajschiller

    @laurajschiller

    Yeah, I can see that. However, not all marker papers are the same. When I checked out some of them they did not have the same "look or feel"...in other words, they were not coated. The coated papers work fantastic, so look for a coating on the paper. And I suspect the more coated it is the better the process is. It is why the freezer paper works so well because it was plastic coated. And Thank you very much for the advice on the adhering the freezer paper to a normal sheet!! Awesome!! However, I now have a question for you...what would you use to adhere the freezer paper to the normal sheet. I'm a little nervous right now of trying to put anything that I shouldn't through my printer...Sending you my biggest hugs!! :)

    @@laurajschiller to print on the shiny side spray adhesive works best. I used the reposition-able type that is used on stencils, but I don’t think it’d matter because you wouldn’t need to separate the papers after printing. I have also just taped the leading edges together and it went through ok, but that was an old tank of a printer, I get the feeling my fussy little modern one wouldn’t like it.

    Sorry, just remembered the first part; The bleed-proof marker paper is the type with the coating.

    @@Frewtsalad No need to be sorry...thrilled you can help out on this here and give some wonderful advice on this issue!! And I looked at my cartooning paper again, it had the words on the top cover of the pad "super slick". So, it would make sense that the bleed-proof marker paper is the type with the coating, because when I think on it...most times, if you use a sharpie marker for example...it has a tendency to bleed on certain papers. Sort of wondering if that would be a good test for paper types to use in trying out this technique...hmmmm....possibly... Thank you again for all your good advice! :)
