Yes, I kept calling it Chrysoprase…that’s what happens when you’ve got a head full of stones 🤣 Chrysocolla is actually what I was inspired by. Sowwwyyyy 😂❤
I love watching you work! Creative, funny, flexible! You’re the Bob Ross of polymer clay!

Oh, that is the *PERFECT* way to describe Deb!
This came up on my notifications while at work, and I was like 'Ooooh! I know what I'm watching tonight! Beautiful pieces, Deb! Can't wait to try this myself!
Your faux stones always look amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Love these colors! Thanks for sharing!!!
They're beautiful! Love the ombre effect, can't wait to try!
Thank you for the tutorial. Those are gorgeous. You are amazing.
Well, I thought the shell one, the last tute was the best! But I love this one soooo much too!! Love the black inclusions, that is really a cool technique!!!😘😘💞💞✌✌
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
Beautiful! I will definitely try getting out of my comfort zone and using more greens in my designs! Thanks so much for your continued inspiration!!
Oh Deb these are stunning!!! Thank you so much! 😊👍💕
As much as I love your video’s, I have to seriously pay extreme attention due to your accent. Last time I did a double take and had to rewind when you asked if your camera “fogged” up. I honestly heard a different word than fogged. 😂. In todays video, you started out saying you were still in a “beachy” mood. My first thought was “oh this should be fun” because I swear, I heard a different word than beachy. 😂😂😂😂😂. I’m watching it again because I was snickering to myself through the first viewing. And fyi, I’m in Canada and love your accent.

Thanks so much for posting links! I searched for your pendant cutters and even thought to cut my own using a self-healing graphic/ruler mat I have for quilting. I thought, "Well, this is dumb. Deb posts links" and, lo and behold, got right to the ones I wanted at such a great price at O Joy, I bought 6. Your polymer clay channel is my #1 go-to. I have countless books, many with faux stones, but NONE equal your techniques! I have a USB dremel and buffing attachments---but also have a husband who happens to be a supervisor at Harbor Freight in our town. He saw the free-standing buffer and is looking for it today at work. Yay, me! We clay artists can never have enough tools!

I haven't watched one of your tutorials for a while (been trying to exercise my creative brain) 😊. Here I am having breakfast, surrounded by kitties on a misty morning in the mountains and voila this lovely idea came up. Been playing with skinner blends and then parking them. Been using Blues mostly and here you are inspiring me to think out of the box once again. Deb you are a fantastic teacher. Thank you for sharing your creativity with newbies like me. ❤❤❤ from the Overberg mountains in South Africa.

So beautiful 😍!! Love the greens. Thank you so very much ❤😊. Do you use the hard type resin? Do you think that's better for not leaving air bubbles?
@clayboutique
Жыл бұрын
The resin I use is listed in my Amazon storefront. Yes, it’s the hard type. Not sure if that’s why it’s better for not leaving bubbles, or if it’s just because it’s a good brand.
Beautiful work, yet again. I find a small handheld rechargeable fan helps to dry the alcohol ink *REALLY* quick (plus they are cheap on Amazon 😜). I have to tell you a derpity derp derp derp moment last week: I grabbed the wrong alcohol ink, which was my UV colored alcohol ink. Everything bubbled up in oven and darkened. It kept the clay not quite baked hard, just a little flexible. Problem solved by UV resin at the end, though. They turned out so cool! An error turned into what looks like actual rock. 🤣 I have to ask a question: I’m having issues with the UV resin staying sticky. I’m doing extremely small amounts per coating. How do you keep that from happening?? I’m constantly having to sand it down a bit and start again, and still it’s a tad sticky and shows finger prints….
@clayboutique

Actually, properly cured clay should be a little flexible, otherwise it’s brittle and breaks, easily. I use my heat gun to dry the alcohol ink. Believe it or not, a thicker coat of resin cures faster than thinner coats…it’s a science thing that I don’t know how to articulate. Try a thicker coat and if it’s still sticky,then I would suggest the resin is old, and you need to buy new. Good job saving your piece! Thank you xoxo
Fabulous Deb..you’ve turned me into a trans lover🥰🙏🏽
I enjoyed watching and learning. I’m new to this stuff. Can you give me any advice on how to get the pieces to bake flat and not with uneven places?
@clayboutique
3 ай бұрын
Well, I bake on paper, on a baking tray if I want to avoid shiny spots that baking on a ceramic tile can cause. Until you’re more experienced, bake on a ceramic tile for a flatter piece, and don’t make the pieces too thin.

Wundervolle Arbeit sie sehen toll aus ,sind die alkholinks uv resistent ?
@clayboutique
Жыл бұрын
Not entirely. Hence protection of resin. Keep all pieces with inks away from direct sunlight.
These are really gorgeous. I am wondering, I don’t have any black alcohol ink. Is it worth getting some or do you think it will be ok without? Or, I could put a light coat of fluid black acrylic. What would you do? Also, did you bake for an hour? This will be my first attempt at one of your tutorials. I’m a newbie.
@clayboutique
Жыл бұрын
Black acrylic would work, but I think it best to invest in some alcohol ink. I always bake for an hour.

Thanks! No, sorry I don’t
Does alchol inks behave differently in the types of clays you're using,than they do in resin? I heard that the inks fade fast in the sun. I was curious, before I buy any of the materials to try this.
@clayboutique
3 ай бұрын
No. Yes. All ink will eventually fade, from sunlight. Especially when used as a surface treatment.
Hi how are ya? If you are not going to resin a finished piece, what thickness would you suggest is okay to leave your clay earrings? I am always worried about running my clay too thin and breakage happening because of weakness. Thanks much.
@clayboutique
Жыл бұрын
Well, polymer clay is pretty durable, so long as you’ve baked correctly. To know something is baked correctly, there should be a flex to them. The thickness I made the pieces in this video, would be fine even without resin. I think a #1 or #2 is a good thickness.
