Polymer Clay and Glue Gun Stamps - Create Unique, Organic Texture For Your Polymer Creations

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Working with glue gun stamps and raw polymer clay can achieve some incredible textures.
Not only are these stamps easy to make and cost effective, they are unique to you which means your work will stand out in the crowd.
The video runs through the creation of two gorgeous beads with glue gun stamp designs on them. After the video I've shared inspirational images of how I've varied the glue gun stamps and some of the pieces I've created using glue gun stamps over the years.

I love mark making in the clay with different kinds of tools and things you find around the house to come up with unique textures. I can't wait to try this and see what fun I can have making these stamps. And I have just the thing to use for bases. I have a bunch of rubber stamp wood blocks that I peeled the rubber off of. I didn't want to throw them away but I had no idea what to do with them. This is perfect, they are all different sizes so I can have a wide variety. Thanks so much for sharing, Deb!

Dear Debbie, I love it. So beautiful ideas using inexpensive ways to create these textures. Is it possible to show a video how to create any pattern using the glue gun? Would you recommend to varnish the pieces where foil is used? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. ❤️

Hey Annita, thanks so much. You know I actually created another video where I showed the glue gun process but it ended up way too long so I opted for this one. It really is a matter of turning your glue gun on and creating a pattern - so very simply. You honestly can't go wrong. As far as varnishing where the foils are - I would definitely seal it you were foiling a piece which would endure wear and tear or come into contact with clothing or skin. Earrings are fine because they kinda just hang! Hope that helps. x

Aww thanks honey. You know I played around with all sorts of experiements with glue guns when I first started working with polymer and didn't keep any notes. I know that was one of them and from memory have a feeling the glue simply peeled off the cured clay. I also remember using a glue gun on raw clay and it was a big fail. My idea was that the hot glue would partially cure the raw clay but it was just a mess and I couldn't pull the glue off the clay. Have a play around though and see if anything works for you - you may have different experiences to me. ♥
