It’s funny because that would never happen with someone who learned English who came to the US. They’d just assume you were American or at least live there so it’s expected you know English already. Also, commenting on someone’s English skills would be considered extremely rude because the only reason someone would do it anyway is because they want to remind you that you don’t belong.

Many countries outside the USA teach English for many years to their students, and it makes me sad as someone from the USA we don’t set the same expectations in school. Anyway, don’t mind the trolls, your skills can only be improved through practice while their ignorance will only get worse.

@@KimKim-mt2bb Those are a minority, if you actually come to the US or Canada or whatever, you will not be seen differently at all, people can understand accents and grammar and make out the sentences you're trying to use

@@SingTodayi если Вам всё быстро даётся, это не значит, что и у остальных так же. Каждый воспринимает информацию по разному. Кто-то из кожи лезет, кто-то схватывает на лету. Знать несколько языков, изучая их самостоятельно это не в магазин за хлебушком сходить. Именно усердие и самоорганизация те качества, которыми можно восхищаться. Это НЕ "ничего особенного". Зачем воспринимать всё как должное, если можно похвалить человека за старания!

​@@SingTodayi чо ты за бред несешь, ты вообще представляешь, насколько трудно говорить свободно на чужом языке без акцента ? хотя, из того, что ты написал, уверен на 100%, что начни ты говорить даже на англиском, у тебя будет дикий акцент, а про азиатские языки я вообще помолчу, там ты и не одного иероглифа правильно не произнесешь, даже повторяя. Так что не неси хуйни в комментах, а попробуй хотя бы одну мудрость на китайском выучить и чтобы без акцента, а потом уже говори - ничего невероятного.

Learning the languages in the countries one visits is a great sign of respect for those countries and their citizens. 👍🏻❤️

I agree. I never was skilled enough to learn a language, I tried. However as part of my holiday prep I always learn hello, thank you, sorry and a few more words. Probably a dozen. Then I see how many I can pick up. Like souvenirs. In the same way you come back loving some new things you ate.

Wow. His Korean is pretty spot-on. Most polyglots have a slight accent but if this guy stood behind a door, you wouldn't know he's a non-native speaker. Very impressive.

учебников много..очень много но все они инфу имеют разную... я использовала учебник кореан грэмма для начинающих, есть и для продолжающих и конечно же видео из ютуб портала...для отработки произношения и сверения инфы в учебнике. Погадаеву и Инсун не советую(если только на началах для ознакомления с языком), еще неплохая корейский без ошибок... тоже работает.

You have to expose yourself to it at least every day. I've done it every day for 2 and 1/2 years, But I was only passively watching dramas. I studied diligently for about 7 months and then I just gave up. Had I kept up the habit of studying as diligently as I did, or longer than 7 months, as a matter of fact for the entire duration of my intrigue in Chinese culture, and I would probably be conversational.

I would LOVE to continue learning new languages. The only thing I’m “worried“ about is, at the rate tech is advancing, I’m 90% sure we’ll have earpieces that translate languages in real time within probably 10 yrs. But content like this is so incredible

But it's like saying I don't want to read books because I'll be able to download knowledge into my head, or I don't want to exercise because I'll be able to use robotics. 5 years ago I heard things like this and still it doesn't make sense to me why people would think like that. Languages advance lives so much. While some some people are still speculating whether to master languages or not others just do it and increase their income + get freedom in life. So, I don't worry about robots and AI 🤣

i know it might be a lot of extra work but it would be super awesome to have the text of any language you are speaking that isn't English above the English translation so that Its easier for learners like me to try and learn from the videos. Like if i see the Korean text I can try reading that first and then ill use the English captions if I dont know something. I can read better than I can hear Korean haha. Hope that makes sense.

Lol. I Watch an American polyglot as well. It’s actually sad that it surprises people so much when Slavic or Nordic looking peoples speak the language of a foreign country. I think the stereotype is built from so many of us that don’t even make an effort to learn a language when traveling. I am a linguist, but not a polyglot. When I was younger, I always wanted to learn all the languages of the world. I think that my study habits and my social anxiety must improve before I can actually practice. Thank you for inspiring me because I love how much is pleases people when we make the effort to learn their language.

I speak fluent English. That's really the only one that I'm fluent in. But Spanish is my second language I'm just not fluent in it. But I do know words in different other languages as well. French, German, Italian, Russian, (only a couple of words in this one), Chinese, Japanese, Korean and a few words in Panjabi. Learning new languages is fun. I used to work in a casino where there was a lot of people from different countries that would come and play. And they would teach me a few words of their language. Basic stuff like hello goodbye, how are you, please, thank you, etc. I think I picked this up from my grandparents. My grandfather spoke English, Spanish and Welsh. My grandmother spoke English, French and German. My father on the other hand spoke English and German. I love learning new languages. The people love it when somebody learns their language.
