Mom was in her 80's and still loved to polka....and was as youthful as any 20 year old on the dance floor. Thanks for the nice memories.
Grew up doing the polka. The most fun dance in the world!
Great about to try to teach polka to my great grandson I am 79.
Mom taught me this step 50 years ago. Thanks for another lesson.
Finally, I cab see the basic steps. Now to try to put it to use. Thanks, simply Polish.

A Doctor once asked me if I exercise. I told him I was polka dancing over the weekend. He said, that's not exercise....that's stamina! LOL

Can't wait for second video
nice job teaching this!!
@Simply Polish Thanks for the quick reply. Will you coming back to Buffalo? We're only a half hour from there on the Canadian side. Spent quite a bit of time checking out your videos, very nice. Is there one of the song you featured in the introduction of your video, or is it on a CD and what is the name of it? Thanks in advance. Hope to see you in Buffalo.
Thanks for the demonstration. Our dances/music in Texas draws a lot of influence from Chez immigrants. It's not hard to see where we derived the twostep and found the time signatures for local country music.
Thank you.
Thanks for the video. This is on my bucket list, to learn the Chicago style polka.I'd better hurry though, I'm 78 years young. Btw, what band and tune is playing in your intro (love it)?

Hummmm... I used to teach polka dancing at Ocean Beach Park, Polkabration, with Ronnie Bondrowski. This isn't how we taught it! Oh well.

Polka part twoooooo
This looks more like Rheinländer than Polka to me😊
Where's the part 2 :D
There's a lot of history about the polka my big sister she's been telling me the story about two special fiddlers she met from the old days, I think it was your sister's then she said you wore a crown on your head and we're singing piji Kuba is your name Erika???

Yes it is! 👌
Its a dance instruction video ... but the camera guy doesn't seem to want to keep the focus on the feet. Kind of disappointing.
Who is this girl? Children dance like this. Ask an 80 year old Viennese grandma. She'll teach you a smooth, civilised polka

This is not a smooth polka. Its a hop polka. Popular in Chicago.
Sorry, but as a dance teacher, showing a video where you demonstrate dance steps, but only record the bodies from the waist up serves no purpose because we can't see the feet.
ONE LEG TO ANOTHER IS A LEAP...NOT A HOP...LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE LEAPING AND BOUNCING.............
