I still don't understand why Lonman sold his GT2.. Extremely iconic car just like your M5. I totally agree with you on growing old with a vehicle that has shared stories and adventures with one self and to never remove those marks of battle. One can only hope the buyer of Lonman GT2 feels the same way about it.

I know this is an old comment, but the last i knew of the Lonman GT2, it was owned by a guy in Scotland, that was a few years back now however

It's great to hear some of the M5's stories! I loved your book and the 32 hours film. I have a 07' Gumball Trophy in my collection of auto memorabilia.

I recon the protest Alex was saying about was against the denial of the Team Polizei winning 2007 Gumball 3000. After the fatal incident the Gumball officials claimed there was no race despite the fact Team Polizei finished the rally first.

Nice! Totally agree on the “scars” and that one should respect the car. I told my wife that I must be buried with my E46 or had my conscious transferred to the ECU.

I found two M5 from 2000 for sale in Germany for around 45k in very good condition. This car is more rare in Germany than in America!

After several Audis and Mercedes I buy in 2 years my first BMW, M5 or M6 times. And will keep it forever.

I really don’t understand why you gave it to AMMO NYC to remove ALL THE HISTORY; he could just cleaned it and bring back some of the shine; but removing all the stickers made it just another crappy old M5

Making a movie! But you should see the process to paint correcting. That m5 looks straight off the factory. No holograms or swirls :). Much better than an old e39

That car is not beat up should see my e46 from high school

I have a 2002 540i since 2005 and I am never selling it either. I am fixing it with no dealer help. So far it still hauls ass at 178k miles. I still don't like that you removed all the stickers just recently.....the bmw police cruiser will be missed.
