Politically Incorrect August 1998 Part 1 of 2 Eddie Izzard Christine O'Donnell
Комедия
ETA: Just posted a minute of a 2010 interview with Eddie in which he talks about this clip. He seems pretty chuffed that it went viral, which is a weight off my shoulders. I thought he'd probably be glad it was out there but couldn't be completely sure.
ETA: Thanks for the shout out last night, Mr. Maher! 9/18/10 Well, hello world! Welcome to my channel. Come for O'Donnell and (I hope) STAY for Eddie.
This was Eddie's first appearance (of an eventual five) that he made on Bill's late, lamented program. Enjoy.

this show was shown on C4 in the uk thanks for the upload
I have been looking through a lot of clips, and I am looking for a certain clip. Anybody know where I can find the 1 episode in season 2, with Ron Silver? I think it is episode 21.
Anybody have the episode with Robert Conrad and Gavin McInnes?
"this is semen, you can't get that out for love not money" hahahaha that was fucking dark :p
I used to watch this show with my mom. I loved it.
This show was the shit. I wish he'd bring it back.
@iSAW7 specifically it comes down to measuring "motivation" which is something we both cannot do. Or deciding how much motivation is enough to consider them related.
I've never seen a guest attacked from so many angles after uttering the words "Telling the truth is the right thing to do"
I remember seeing this back in the day. I love how always telling the truth is a virtue. Unless it has something to do with how you spend your campaign contributions or whether or not you have a collage degree.
two generations got together and communicated better afterwards.
I always thought the word "womb" sounded hilarious. Hehe. "wooooooooomb".
If anyone has any more of these videos, please post!
Christine "I believe telling the truth..." Jasmine "I don't agree with telling the truth..."
I missed this show on TV during the weekdays. It was a hell of lot better than Letterman, Leno and those other cadaver TV late night clowns. Real Time is great on Fridays.
O'Donnell is an intellectual black hole. She never realized Maher only invited her onto the show to provide amusement for the audience with her near-constant idiocy.
@photolitherland What do you mean by that?
"One person with lipstick at a time..." LOL
O’Donnell wrote in a 1998 essay: “As Christians, virginity is not even our goal. Purity and holiness are our calling in Christ.” Yes, it most certainly us a goal of true Christians. I'm not sure if that is truly from an essay of her's, but if it is she is dead wrong. You can't have prity without virginity.
We'll be back with more WCTR after these messages
@TheSelfControl You're leaving Uranus?
If this woman gets elected, I will leave the country.
@iSAW7 I am not distorting the argument. I feel as though you are saying that if we see anything that has no physical provocation we are warranted to attack, by that standard we can attack Somalia. I never meant slight discomfort either, are you saying If they have anti-american views we can attack without physical provocation? I am attempting to clarify your stance.
"I'm not a witch I'm nothing you heard"
Where are the parents today, the family is falling apart. Most kids are out of control.
@iSAW7 I didn't specify invading Rwanda though, I said Africa, I did not say which part of Africa should be invaded, I only brought up an event in Africa's past that adds to the continent's history, I should clarify; Africa houses atrocities that are far more trying for it's people so why are we not liberating them? I was largely just referring to anyplace that has injustice using Africa as an example and Rwanda as a more specific example of atrocity.
I miss the 90's. :(
I love seeing Whitley do the righteous neck roll and finger wave.
Love it, Martin Mull, star of Sabrina the Teenage Witch sitting next to Christine O'Donnell, former teenage witch.
I think Bill only had Christine on his show to laugh at her and because he wanted to nail her, and I would wager that he did nail her.
HER LAUGH!! O_o ITS EATING AT MY BRAIN >_
i remember hearing Christine O'Donnell's name when I was a teen. I was about 16 in 1998... and didn't give 2 turds about politics and current events half as much as I do now.
Kristine seems so sweet, even Maher is nice to her, she's doesn't squirm when the other guests say disgusting things.
You got to give her some credit - she appears on a variety of media outlets unlike Palin deParrot
"oh absolutely NOT"
Dude, that is SUCH a good question! WTF *is* Martinizing? Lol!
In other news: Eddie Izzard has always been awesome.
@thejobloshow Martin Mull still pops up occasionally on re-runs or one-time guest appearances on shows.
6:43 lol at the camera guy sprinting out in the background and sorry if that is detracting to the point of all this.
Love Eddie!
BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILL MA-
I wish they'd let Christine talk more, they could have humiliated her more and ripped her fuzzy logic further to shreds if they'd let her keep snapping her trap.
Wow that is a SPECTACULARLY ill fitting suit. Eddie Izzard is, of course, quite fun.
@iSAW7 No I meant Somalian pirates attacking US causing slight discomfort, I suppose it is a little vague. As a whole Africa has atrocities that are similar to the middle-east. Specifically Somalia has caused us discomfort. Just as Iraq supposedly did.
Remember Martin Mull and Jasmine Guy? Where the fuck did these people go? I would have never thought that O'Donnell would get more attention today...
Am I the only one annoied by O'Donnell's laugh? I hope not.
@draber12 He's not one of Satan's agents. Tell-tale signs: 1) no horns; 2) no glowing eyes; 3) he touches things but they don't burst into flames.
wats with the O' names
Anyone else notice Eddie is wearing Maureen's Over the Moon shirt?
@iSAW7 Yes but this doesn't mean that it can justify the invasion. I feel as though the bush doctrine is hurting us by excluding other solutions to these issues than just invading. We invaded without this knowledge, in fact the person you mentioned before set up traps for us when we invaded before we had invaded. It was premature and unplanned at best.
@iSAW7 We did not ignore Bin Laden. President Clinton actually started a search for him during his presidency, the only people who ignored Bin Laden was the Bush people who were in business with his family. Also I never said he didn't support radicals. I'm saying that a "team up" isn't the most likely outcome. If we were attacked as an act of war from an actual hostile nation instead of extremists this would be an entirely different story.
@slammah2012 Hate the myth that aspartame is so dangerous because it is a great sweetener taste wise. It has been tested since the 70's and is legal in over 90 countries despite all the claims.
"As Christians, viginity is not even our goal." We're not privy to the entire talk to see the context, but perhaps she misspoke as everyone does. I believe she is not speaking to children/adults who are unmarried. Those of us who forfeited our virginity prior to marriage, socially acceptable or not, have forfeited much. We have, conciously or not, cheated on our spouses in advance. If anyone ever plays the tape back on our lives we will be as humilated as she and probably worse.
I wish they would stop interrupting her and let her talk. Even though I don't agree with a lot of what she's saying.. Still wouldn't mind hearing it
@MrSuperneocon That's rediculous! It is not the place of the public school system to inflict a single religion onto students. If parents want their kids to learn the Bible, send them to a private religious school.
@brykcm - No, but being able to utilize words correctly and effectively in order to make at point DOES.. Now whether the other party is able to comprehend these words is always a question, but I have no desire to dumb down my discourse just because they can't keep up...
Funny how O'Donnell - posing here as a "Christian Activist" - once also posed as a witch. Posing seems to be her forte.
@iSAW7 We are just arguing in circles here. We both have differing opinions that can't be substantiated, you cannot say they were not equal motivators because there is no way of measuring that, to quote you "Why? Cause you say so?"
I want Izzard's shirt. A lot.
I love Eddie, He keeps mature content in his comedy routines in a naive and pleasantly childish mindset.. Love it, but I also love How real he is, and similarly how real Bill and His idol George Carlin are. All great comedic muses for a generation in need of some comedy.
@toddmlbauer "blooper"??? Sorry, I'm not following anything you stated. Maybe you should lower your dosages. Is there any kind of a point here?
9:11 minutes... COINCIDENCE?????

Tabasco Jones do we have some fuckin' security in this building?or do i have to come over and kick this guys ass out of here?
Bill was too dramatic. "This is what she wants, but the fate of the country was up in the air." How was the fate of the country up in the air? Because there was a chance Al Gore would become President for two years?
@lanegwyn The same exact thing happened to me! I was staring at her picture on the Yahoo article, when she first won the primary, because I knew her from somewhere. Then I read in the article that she was once on Real Time, and I instantly remembered her, and my first recollection was 'It's that phenomenally stupid woman who was on with Eddie Izzard!'. I never had much of an optimistic view for the tea party movement, but her nomination killed whatever little bit of hope I was still harboring.
I feel bad for Chrstine O'Donnell. I don't agree with her on anything really, but she just seems so nice.
I think is Palin II
@draber12 Is this Sarah Palin???
I like Christine O'donnell even more now
@y2ktube - Do you always judge people based on your own values? Why not use the values of our country as defined in the Constitution? BTW, Can you quote anything by Jesus that smites the godless and the liberal? Or do you only read Leviticus? (which btw, is a guideline for rabbi's and thus more stringent in its proscriptions.)
@gits4eva Okay thanks for the reply, & that goes for the rest of folks who are trying educate me on sexual orientation but please, I didn't mean that........ I was sooo baked
I urge everyone not to trust those who speak in absolutes.Shades of grey are everywhere. When you can appreciate the position of others, even if you cannot empathise with it you are a whole human being as far as i'm concerned. People who talk in absolutes (TELL THE TRUTH ALL THE TIME NO MATTER THE COST) are ignorant, and hurtful and cannot see that a small lie to protect others is not against nature, or god or whatever. IT'S HUMAN! Peace out!
People like her talk about what THEY believe but the minute they get power they try to Make you do as they do wether you like it or not.
@sulla175 That doesn't mean she isn't nice. You can have a difference of opinion with someone without being mean about it. I don't think she would be mean about it.
Fucking hell, Bill Maher cannot resist those cheap shots about Eddy Izzard. He calls himself a comedian?
@Anglogirl1 Ah. Ya see? I made a mistake right there, should have been opponents' not 's.
@slammah2012 Funny several classmates remember Barack Obama at Columbia. The information was posted to snopes years ago. The story you're basing this on is some random student who didn't hang out with the minority crowd and so I wouldn't expect him to know Obama.
@iSAW7 I didn't bring up invading Rwanda, that was an assumption you had. I referenced the Genocide as an example of an occurrence in Africa that had a large impact on their people. I never said anything about invading it. I feel that money is a motivator for war as is religion so the two can be seen similarly, that is my stance, but we can talk about religion if you want.
@DeathizYellow and what, move into the city?
@iSAW7 This for one, but redirecting the argument towards my motivations regarding money which is of no consequence.
"bill ma"
It's almost spooky how much hateful ignorance that beautiful face and sweet disposition disguises... It kinda makes me sad. :(
@iSAW7 Also what I mean is that even the slightest hint that Iraq was in bed with Bin Laden would have warranted an actual political response, but he wasn't. If they were training terrorists jointly in any way that would be different but we can't play the world on what-ifs. There are more ways to handle a situation than invasion, flatly the invasion of iraq had nothing to do with us being in any danger.
@DevonSartori still crazy after all these years..
@iSAW7 Again there was no actual attack on us. What you are insinuating is that if we think we are feeling the slightest discomfort with someone we can invade them. I said political response, not military. And why the middle east then? why not Africa? We have been attacked by pirates, should we invade? There have been far worse atrocities from Africa than from the middle east. The Rwanda genocide comes to mind. It was not about freedom. We ignore worse every day.
I'm surprised people focus on the fact that she said that she dabbled in witchcraft, when in reality she did no such thing, since neither witches nor Satanists use blood in rituals or on their altars. What the reality is is that she lied, using some Christian propaganda she read as the basis for that lie. This is the real issue here, after making such a big deal about not being a liar, she is obviously lying in this clip, and yet no one is calling her on her bullshit.
@bukayo41784 no ... 1990 was 20 years ago.....she wasnt sponsered by Peter Geithner [Timothy's father] when she was entering the system....
@iSAW7 Even if the media ignores something that does not mean it's not there. The fact that the media didn't cover it doesn't dismiss the fact. And politically, attacking a military giant with the support of other military giants could very well have started an even larger war that would have demolished that section of the world. Politics isn't just who can wave the biggest stick or use the biggest gun it is also about knowing when and how to use these things and when that would be absurd.
only thing to do is jump over the moon...MOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
@TheSelfControl Can I come to? I think moving to another planet is the only reasonable decision one can make right now.
@ShoRyuBarbie -- What a glorious victory for him...zzzzzzz He did win that battle, but the war is far from over.
@Saucypants1000 -- Why is it that post-sexual breakups destroy us the first time and get less painful each time it happens? Because the first time was not love but lust. Then, we close our heart to others a little more each time we begin a relationship and not jump head first into love again willing to give our full and unvarnished selves. Therefore, if this happens before marriage we are already untrusting and hard-hearted in some degree and that "cheats" our spouse.
@KOOLanash I dunno, he looks kinda strange without the goat'. Guess I'm too use to seeing him with it.
hi s lipstick is where he draws his awsome god like power from...LOL
@iSAW7 I disagree, I am likening how the turnout could have become more covert and less stand-offish. The last part is just how escalation isn't always a good option. My point was that you said we ignored Bin Laden, we as a government did not, we were aware he existed, the media is not part of the government and has no need of mention in this instance. Heck even when 9/11 had just occurred we had a shot at locating him but we let his family flee the country without questioning them.
@Saucypants1000 -- Full disclosure...yes, I engaged in pre-marital sex. That aside, I do believe that it was not the ideally healthy choice. Sexual intercourse is no trifling thing. We are emotional, phyiscal, spirtual, and social (EPSS) beings. The intensely intimate act of sex with another person is not merely a physical connection. Because we are EPSS beings two persons become one in all 4 areas of being during sex.
ahh the 90's
@MrZebraZombie Yup.
3:46 XD Martin Mull looks like he is ready to kill himself
LMAO
@euro944t Maher isn't associated with any organized religion.
@MrSuperneocon i think we should shrink government completely.... we can individually choose to not look unto evil ... i dont need a government to tell me to pray or not to pray...
