    I've been super impressed with how they turn out. I'm excited to see how this boats polish lasts as it stays in the water year round, I suspect it'll be far better than just an acid wash which seems to improve the look for about a month or two in what I've seen, seems pointless to me to go through the trouble of washing and doing all that work just to let it go back to how it was. I know my wheels I polished on here have held up great

    Something went wrong this morning with this video apparently. I had uploaded it thursday, got the thumbnail and description done, and scheduled it for 9am friday. I proceeded to go about my day, and my phone said it was public, but on another one of the youtube app pages it said it was still scheduled, and on my PC it just plain said it wasn't scheduled to be public ever. @@trythistv the reviews I have read say 2 years in full sun, 3 to 5 out of the sun. It takes about half a can to do the whole boat. If you follow their instructions on how to put it on it looks very nice and really brightens the metal and adds a shine. My problem with other systems was that the pontoons would look good for a short period then quickly oxidize, even with wax.

  • @trythistv

    @trythistv

    3 жыл бұрын

    I did as much of the inside of the toons as I could, and I have noticed no side effects on the grass from the wash or the polish chemicals, the carpet on the bunks tends to get ruined when pressure washing, especially as it ages and gets kinda brittle for lack of better terms, but if you're careful it's not bad at all

  • @markknight6910

    The reason the second product/system works better it is intended to use all 3 stages required to clean and polish any surface that tends to oxidize over a period of time. It Very important to complete All three stages in order to completely "cut" or remove oxidation,, "clean" off oxidation.. Then "seal" and polish surface. these 3 steps will substantially increase the length of time and number of environmental exposures that expedite surface deterioration/ oxidation regardless of Name Brand being used !! Dont take shortcuts !! Its well worth the effort and protection of your equipment or toys !! Just a final not... My comment is Not intended to take away or reput your good video for the first stage of a complete process. Remember. Cut (wool pad).. Clean and seal (synthetic pad).. Then Polish with micro fiber pad then hand polish..

  • @trythistv

    With much misery and frustration, or a crane and removing either the inner toon or both outers. Any way you look at it, doing all sides of a tritoon is going to be a ton of work. I generally tell anyone that we do everything that is going to be visible when the boat is cruising down the lake, and beyond that, the price jumps massively.

    Reality check; there is NO aluminum cleaner that has "corrosion inhibitors" Polishing aluminum does not protect it, it removes aluminum and smooths the surface. Polished aluminum will turn to crap just as fast as acid washed aluminum. The black on the polishing pad is removed aluminum. It's the same as polishing anything; you continue using finer compounds to remove the swirl marks which are indeed scratches until the surface is smooth. Proper aluminum cleaning products are hydrofluoric acid based, starbrite products are well known to be heavily diluted and pathetic compared to others, you should also use dish soap as a surfactant while applying such acids and rinse thoroughly.

  • @trythistv

    @trythistv

    2 жыл бұрын

    You're right. There are a multitude of acids I've personally seen used, Sulfuric acid, Muriatic, Phosphoric. The big problem is some people hear acid, and go get a bottle of it, and spray it on without diluting, they don't rinse it properly afterward and it ends up eating holes in crevaces where it can pool up. Commercially available products tend to either come with clearer instructions, or are pre-diluted (yes, sometimes too much) so that it isn't as likely to turn a nice boat into swiss cheese.
