Hi again u need to update the wheel covers to an double vent ,same as they have on the 1998 thru 2000 wings really changes the way the bike looks ,I've done it before

If you wipe off the black residue sooner, like right around the 2:35 mark the wheels will come out brighter. By continuing to scrub, you're scrubbing the black residue into the rim & it will come out shiny, but dingy-er.

aren't these coated wheels? How can you polish the aluminum without taking off the clearcoat coating

What to do with wheels that are pitted? I bought a c-19/ need room for house build, GL1500 on beach drive N. of Seattle. Literally stored right next to beach, so wheels are pitted well beyond polish!

Get a drill one that plugs in and use a maguirs polishing cone works so much faster pits and all come out and super shine in ten min u will be amazed

I use white diamond metal polish it ain't no joke I have mother's it's just to keep that shine diamond cuts deeper leaves easier shine and frill with cone or ball

Use an abrasive scotch-brite flap brush on a drill for putting. Then use mothers

The whole rim all around 15 min 20 at most

Sandpaper, an wet sand get pits out then polish! Polish can't fix pits! Mother same jar in my bench!

Total of 19 bolts and screws to remove the fender ,,,LOL

That damn Mothers polish works like John Wayne toilet paper!

I was not familiar with that term "John Wayne toilet paper" I had to Google that, so your saying you don't like it? I don't polish aluminum wheels, I've seen that brand around a lot and didn't know what to look for, I really don't know what I bought it for but remembered it was here when I saw how pitted the wheels are on the bike, it did bring out the shine but with a lot of elbow grease.

That stuff works ok but for the effort its not worth it, it seems to work better on billet aluminum than anything else. Our polishing guys use Mirror x acid first and then Mojo, Busch super shine or Heavy Metal depending on what the distributer has on sale. All leave a mirror finish but Mojo & Busch have sealers so it stays looking good for a lot longer. I didn't know jack about polishing until I came here, the John Wayne toilet paper saying goes back a long way:)

Flitz Metal polish is better

Aluminum and "AC" Coil Cleaner. A.K.A. Acid, not sure what type? weak tho, take a min to start burning, when washing cars bare Handed. Anyways, Any Maintenance Supply company should Have it. don't dilute, Spray it on, Keep Face a good distance away, maybe mask? You Know Us Hard Heads.. Spray it on, Let it sit as sec or to, Hose it off. Agitated where's needed? Re apply, if Heavy. Hardly NO work is involved. leaves the dull finish and will take that shine, back to dull as well. Don't put it on "NO" Polished Alum. If you don't intent on re polishing, A.K.A. Bad Day;/ sorry, Have to Use Simi colon for My Smiley Faces on account I Got A Lazy EYE! oh and Don't let sit to long it will turn black. It will come off, but I can tell it was done. Doesn't impress me. Others Say, They Say its the Same. ok.. Hey Also Works Car engines well, cover coil packs or Dist., then Spray Chrome and Alum. then hit with the pressure wash. Effortless... then Hit it With a Hand Held Blower, I use a Pb 408 Echo Back Pak Blower to delete water spots. or dry out coil packs, You Know us Lazy Asses, it Can be mixed with Tire Cleaner for greasier areas, but oven gleaner works great for that Tho.
