Polish Aviation Museum | Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego | Kraków | WALKAROUND
Polish Aviation Museum in Cracow (pol. Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego w Krakowie) is the biggest aviation museum in Poland. It is located at former airfield Rakowice-Czyżyny. The museum also houses a massive library and photographic archives, with over 30000 positions on the list. Museum itself was ranked eighth in the list of the best aviation museums in the world by CNN television. Aircraft collection is over 150 large, with various aircraft from both NATO and Warsaw Pact designs. Footage above was recorded on 25th of May. The museum is definitely a 'must visit' for any aviation enthusiast out there.

Went there early October 2023. Great museum! Much MiGs!!!! Sadly, many are out in the open and need care. Great displays of engines and recovery/restoration efforts. Thanks for a great day. Awesome video by the way.
Been there, loved this video. Brought back great memories of the place.
Great video thank you.
Cheers. The video and detailed info is greatly appreciated. Rightly deserves a place.on the "Go To" list. Heck, I would most probably look for an apartment in the vicinity if I were staying is Krakow ;)

Very impressive I would love to go over there and visit this Museum very sad at this planes are being kept outside that is history there and needs to be better preserved but I know how hard it is to raise money hangers are very expensive
КЛАССНЫЙ музей молодцы что сохраняют историю авиации .
Wonderful museum! Even famous 'Mig alley" was taken from Hanoi and put down there :) The sad thing is all these aircrafts standing outside now, should be in some building. I hope in near future they will.
The Orlik, the Iryda, the Mi 8, various Mig 21, the Aero Delfin, an IL 18, an IL 28 trainer
Muito legal esse Museu aqui no Brasil tem um também show lugar bonito
It might be improved if the names of the aircraft were put on the video. I noticed a Mig 21 which was also flown in Finland, they also used the French jet trainer with the V tail. I also notice a German WW2 plane inside so now I must look inside with you , and I also see a Royal Navy Vampire which I also saw in 1958 when HMS Eagle visited. On the outside, just before you entered the hangar, I saw a strange airplane which I did not recognize so now I must search. Thank you for this visit :)

I liked this video a lot, if you could have given 3 seconds of the name plaques I would have loved it.
These aircrafts outodoors could receive a layer of preservation products to avoid corrosion and maintain their colours. This is cheap. Just spray over them and they would be bright for years!
There is a very good display of aero engines inside not in video - don't miss it on your visit.

People talking about the planes outdoors. Kosice in Slovakia is similar with multiple Su-22s and Mig-21s sitting outside the pavilion (indoors they have Mig-29, Me-109 etc) Yes, it's a shame but most old planes generally end up getting melted down, only the very lucky ones get preserved indoors. This kind of publicly accessible junkyard in the grounds of a museum is actually the 2nd best thing that can happen. Some of this stuff had production runs of thousands of units, there are only so many museums in the world willing to give house space and preservation time to a Su-22.

@@K-Effect You have to get kids who wants to do this king of work. And just like cars, plane too will rot whether inside or outside if not used on a regular basis. All rubber seals and such will fry rot if not used. I bought a car that was setting in a warehouse and not used for 17 years. I had to replace all the rubber and all of the seals in that car to make it function properly in everyday driving. You also must change out all fluids and completely flush and or change out the brake ,fuel, and water systems. That's why I love the (flying museums), they have maint. to keep things in the air.

tran hau Both planes was handed over to Poland by the Vietnamese government in the late 1970s (I believe in '77). They've been doing some tests on both for many years. After that they been acquired by museum in '92. In 2015, C-37 Dragonfly underwent a conservation process and received painting of an aircraft from the 520th Fighter Squadron 74. Aviation Mania, an A-37 cannot carry many bombs and ammunition and it has 2 versions, one has 2 seats for training pilots and the other has 1 seat. F-5 flies too much faster than A-37. I remember 2 days before South VN taken over by the North Communists, 4 or 5 A-37s captured by the communists bombed Tan son Nhat airport (stil in control of South VN), which is about some miles from my house. I was on the roof of my house to see the bombing. Some minutes later, F-5 took off to chase the A-37s but they quickly ran away. F-5 is so loud especially when it takes off. It can fly for 45 minutes without extra fuel tanks.
