POLICE SEIZE MY FERRARI FOR EXECESSIVE SPEED!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Introducing the Suzuki GSXR-1000R as the first Superbike to the DDE channel but it all goes wrong when we leave Victoria to head up island to the race track for a proper demo of the GSXR Beast! I get hit with laser doing 48 over the speed limit and the Ferrari gets impounded! :/

I know the officer well and didn't want to cause a scene or show his face out of respect to him! He was very cool during the entire process! Lesson learned that although 125 kph on this stretch of road is easy to do even in a Honda Civic or f150 pick up it's not the speed limit and will get your vehicle impounded if you drive that that speed. Time to get that membership at the track. ;)

Damon, once again good for all of us to know the various regional laws. I also love the way you didn't argue, admitted wrongdoing and even showed respect to the officer. in the last week you've argued and stuck up for your rights when you needed to and admitted defeat when you were at fault. great lessons for all of us but especially for the younger drivers. part of owning a super/hyper car is being mature enough to not only handle the car but also the situations the car gets you into. cheers mate!

I got caught by a lasergun, it was in Saint Gallen.. handed them my license and knew it was gone for a while. Luckily my car wasn't towed away, I got special permission to drive it to the next parking spot, because the officers didn't want to move the car

Sad to see you supper carless but in Australia 40 over would be a year ban 2 so one week no supper car is not so bad. I am sure you can get a few on demo to tie you over lol.

Dude no disrespect to you or the cop, and I totally understand that he was doing his job, but he really isn't being nice at all to you when he impounds your car. That's not cool. If he was really your friend he would go much, much easier

That officer is part of a 15 man unit dedicated to aggressively targeting speeders and reckless drivers, often on that stretch of highway because it's INFAMOUS for fatal accidents, often with speed involved. He literally cannot walk away from someone doing 41 kmh over the limit, the backlash from his supervisors, the media, the province, and the local govts that advocate for that highway being made safer would be far too great. Not worth being a 'buddy' to someone if you get terminated and your unit gets tarnished over it.

Hey Damon this is the stuff that can potentially harm your brand and scare potential sponsors away. I love your content but I think you gotta keep the speeding to the track and closed courses. Good luck dude, I do love your content

+BC BEN thanks for the advice. Honestly its not somehting most brands care about since literally everyone speeds on the street. Now if I was endangering peoples lives consistently and driving reckless in town or around other cars then yes its bad news bears. But this isn't one of those situations.

I commend you for owning this! A cop once told me when I’d complained about why he pulled me over when my associates we in front of me speeding (exotics in Las Vegas back in the day), he simply told me to: “Own it. All 4 of you WERE speeding, but ‘I’ was the one who got caught!” Lol 😂 Also just three months ago I was coming from California back to my home in Texas and got pulled over. I was told I was doing 78 in a 45mph zone. The highway road turned street road within 10 miles to my destination so although most of that road is marked at 70mph, there’s a small stretch where it turns to a 45mph street zone. How convenient that the cop sits right at the transition point! But he saw all of the modifications I’d done and how by his own admission it looks nothing like a CRV, and because I’d answered all of his questions (like the kids I’ve done down to where I was going, heading to and how long I’ve been driving), he let me go with a written warning! That was also an automatic tow and jail, but because I “OWNED IT” - and because I’d been driving 21 hours straight (only stopping for gas and bathroom), that cop let me get away with murder. I love that cop for what he did because prior, I was one of this who hated that I was always being pulled over for no reason.

According to the police there wasn't a chase. So nice click bait title? I really wish people like you would take into consideration about the other people around them. The Malahat is a sketchy drive in the first place with numerous crashes happening along it constantly. So the fact that you're carelessly speeding along there, is really frustrating to see. And from what I gather this isn't your first time being pulled over for speeding. As a father and grown man you need to set a better example.

StabletoCity As someone who has travelled the malahat everyday for the last 4 years and continues to. I feel as if it's my duty to inform you that the reasoning behind the high rate of accidents, is a result of lack of funding on the government's behalf, to properly build the nesssary infrastructure needed among the malahat. As it is the the main highway for road users to take between Victoria City and the rest of the upper Island it is heavily traveled. Resulting in more accidents due to the heavy density of traffic. As well seasonal/bad weather conditions play a key part in the equation. For example dense fog, snow, ice, rain and so fourth. All of these factors play dividends when accounting for a majority of accidents along the malahat. Ultimately, however it comes down to the fact that it's a curvy mountain pass with speed in some areas that are to high for winter conditions and to low in certain sections while good conditions are apparent. From my observations the amount of people getting speeding tickets and impounds along the malahat means there is most definitely a problem with the speed limits. 40km/h over the speed should not warrant a impound, as it does not in many of the states in America. It is simply a money grab to fund corrupt government spending habits. However, besides all that Damon owned up to his mistakes and is only human. Damon or anyone for that matter, should not be belittled/criticized by anyone whom doesn't know all the given factors to there situation.

you were wise to have stopped those guys from towing the scud on a under lift. most tow operators know this is a recipe for disaster, if by some chance if you are lucky enough to overcome the clearance issue at the front of the car you will have a new issue of clearance at the rear once the care is lifted. FYI super cars need to be towed on special flatbeds that have a "low load angle" specially designed for low riding vehicles. I have seen your type of cars loaded on a regular flatbeds using boards or "cribbing" like was used in your situation but here's the problem with that; if the boards kick up they can hang up on the underside of the vehicle and completely sabotage the whole loading operation. Also I have seen the boards spin out if the car is being loaded under its own power. Two thoughts here - buy a truck like I mentioned do your own towing or shop around for a towing professional in your area with the proper equipment and get to know the guy on a first name basis :) The later is good advise for anyone. You should know and have a trusted tow professional on speed dial! This little secret will save you money ;)

If you can afford to buy an exotic vehicle, you can pay the impound fee and other fees. I was in traffic court yesterday and a guy did 143 mph in his 15 Mustang GT in Contra Costa County (Bay Area CA). 120 mph is already a bullet on the highway when someone doing 78 mph above the speed limit. With the new California exhaust laws, they can impound your car just for having loud exhaust
