Police recover stolen Lego worth over $200,000
Oregon police have recovered stolen Lego sets valued at more than $200,000 in a bust of a massive theft ring, officials said. A three-month investigation revealed that the owner of a store in Eugene was buying new, unopened Lego sets that had been stolen from nearby stores. KTMR's Grace Meadows reports.

So what you are saying that a murderer is not as evil?
The real crime is that Chewbacca drawing.
So about 15 sets?
What makes Lego a target is how outrageously overpriced the sets are. It's pieces of plastic for heavens sake... I love Lego but not at the prices the kits sell for.

They are still built with ABS plastic which includes Oil to make the plastic aka LIQUID gold. Its what makes them fit properly when molding.

Lego almost went bankrupt in 2003. It's because adults have entered the market for Lego, driving prices up since Lego knows adults will spend more money on themselves.

LEGO consistently costs the same per piece. There is a disney tax but their own lines are still affordable
It make the bottoms of my feet hurt looking at all those loose pieces.
that's like 3 maybe 4 of the Star Wars kits.
Even Lego thieves wanted a cost of living adjustment 😂they turned on the guy & cooperated because they didn't think he was paying them enough 😂
Brick-flation had made people desperate
Lego needs to put seial number on sets to make tracking thefts easier. If you take away abilty to easily sell stolen sets then it is no longer worth it to steal them.
There is a noticeable quality difference between lego and other brands and when you factor in licensing fees for star wars, harry potter etc. There is your price
Imagine building all of hogwarts out of a lego set
How is a LEGO worth that much money?

have you seen how much even the small sets go for these days? And once they do their production run of set, that's usually it. Their value only increases from there.

That singular LEGO is worth more than its weight in gold

2000 sets at 400000$ means each set was worth an avg of 200$. Which is what the large sets cost now.

They're high quality, and quality controlled and have been for decades, let alone limited-run sets and franchise partners. The first modern-designed brick will fit perfectly with a brick newly produced off the factory line. I tried another construction brick manufacturer once and really came to appreciate LEGO quality. They ARE expensive though, make no mistake.
better put up bulletproof glass
How sad Lego has become a valuable currency.
Real lego pieces are make with ABS Plastic in the molding. Black gold.
Time is a funny thing..

I recently watched NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where they covered a story about a deficit of batteries for solar power in California. However, the headline misleadingly stated, "There's too much solar power." This is a significant and intentional step of misinformation, which is completely out of character for NBC and Lester Holt. I am appalled and disappointed by this. The real issue is a logistical failure on the part of the industry and government, not an excess of solar power. How could NBC present such a misleading narrative? We still heavily subsidize fossil fuel companies that are harming the planet, and now we're being told that there's too much solar power simply because we haven't built enough batteries in pace with panels? This is a clear case of poor planning and even poorer journalism. NBC needs to correct this misleading statement immediately.
