Just a reenactment. It was mentioning the more life saving actions like starting IVs and rushing to hospital and communicating to hospital so doctors will be ready and waiting. Some scenes have been deleted from the original documentary that should have been left in, to me. Some SWAT members were at a police training gym or facility and had guns in their unmarked cars. They ran and jumped in their cars and took off for the scene as they were, in shorts and Tshirts. In the original it showed them leaping out and going on bellies prone to shoot at bad guy’s legs under car. When he went down and they converged around him one officer was in shorts and a Tshirt with flip flops on. I always point him out to my son, who was a SWAT team member for years, and though it broke his heart he had to leave and become a detective for a more 8 to 5 job when his son was born to juggle child care with his wife, a TV news reporter who worked an evening shift. It all worked out and he returned to SWAT once hi son reached school. My grandson will be 14 in December and my son is now a lieutenant. He joined the police force in Austin, TX soon after he graduated from University. They both live to surf and dive. Another deleted scene that was great is when an officer points out a gun shop and before SWAT arrived they went in to ask what weapons they had and could they use some. The owner opened the cage door and unlocked everything and said, Take what you need, guns or ammo, and they did. Everybody was doing all they could to help. Lots of brave supportive people that day. Congrats to all!! Best wishes to wounded, so glad all the good guys survived! ❤

Back in the 90's police swat teams were not a full time unit on call. They had their gear in the trunk of their police unit, they then had to drive to the location of their unit gear, get a briefing as to what was going on and why they were called before even heading to the scene of the crime. Had the FBI called ahead so the police dept could assemble their team and follow behind. Go watch the bank robbery in LA and get an understanding just how long it takes to get a unit together let alone toeven head in the direction they were needed.

To all the people saying "I would've done this or that" trying to look all Billy Badass. Have you ever been on receiving end of full auto AK and AR? It's truly terrifying, bullets are 100x louder when they're whizzing over your head, that sonic boom is so deafening. You can't think or make any rational thought, there's only chaos. The horror. Even in the military with much more combat training than any police or swat would have it's true chaos. No one ever really knows what they'll do or what to do, training tends to fly out the window. You focus on the lives around you first, and then your own life, but you can't save other lives if yours is taken bc you wanted to be a hero..I commend the police for their work that day. The horror...

50 cals are also terrifying. You just don't know until it happens and you either freeze or react. One thing Hollywood got even remotely right is the pure pandemonium. And if you react you are likely almost robotic, you just do what you need to do and hope it's fast enough so the injured can be saved.

@@frankwest4003 It's an idiot gamer term that is often used to mock people who perform poorly in a *video game*. People forget that this is REAL LIFE, where you have to deal with adrenaline and other factors, where-as in video games you do not. As for why they didn't aim for the head. I'm going to assume you don't practice with a firearm all that much. After roughly twenty feet, sometimes even fifteen, it becomes harder to hit a target in the head than it is to hit center of mass (the chest). You are more likely to miss aiming for the head than the chest (it's why as a concealed carry holder, I was taught to hit center of mass and to only aim for the head if the target is within five feet of me) Another reason why they don't aim for the head is because doing so would be considered execution style shooting, the media would have a field day accusing the officers for being "judge jury and executioner". After all, the media doesn't know how to report things *without* bias and instead loves to make assumptions about why police (and others, for that matter) do things, instead of just waiting for all of the *facts* to come out.

I suspect that the reason why law enforcement agencies didn't suspect Phillips and Matasareanu in the Littleton heist is because the summer of 1993 is known as the Summer of Gang Violence by law enforcement agencies in the Denver metro area. As a result; the Littleton Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department chalked up the armored car robbery to gang violence.

There are some crappy cops out there, but there are more good ones, my son is one, and finally the bad ones are being identified and held accountable more than in the past. But the officers in this case and the officers at the Capitol on 01/06 demonstrate all that is fine about the good guys.🚔👮‍♀️🚓💯👍❤️ Everytime I see a cop in a store or parking lot or wherever I make it a point to say Thank you, you’re doing a good job. In all of them I see my son or officers who died and I hope someone told them all that. Thank a cop today; he might save your life one day; or die trying. ❤

@@V8DV You're idea of an "arms reach" is quite a bit different from everyone else's. They were much further away than that, and yes I also saw it as well. Yes, he was a dangerous threat, but that doesn't mean officers won't get close (after all, it's their job) to determine how much more of a threat he is. As far as why they didn't help him. It seems you, like others, have forgotten that back then officers didn't have the same level of medical training they do NOW. They didn't have tourniquets, and the law didn't really allow them to tend to serious injuries due to risk of lawsuits. It's different these days where officers not only have the training but also the equipment to help out. For someone who claims to have seen it live, you certainly don't know a whole lot.

LAPD does try to balance lives vs. law enforcement today - it's why we have so many car chases. But at the end of the day, if you don't actively enforce the law, crime gets worse. That's what we're dealing with here now, crime in the LA area these days is off the charts. I'm all here for a well trained police force that doesn't escalate unnecessarily, but crime is crime.
