I have done over 20k miles of road trips in the US as a tourist. Not a single pull-over, not a single ticket. Follow all speed postings and traffic rules (look up all the turn rules online, which tend to vary from state to state). And make sure the head lights and brake lights are working. Set aside all fear and enjoy your drive.

@@guruprabhu_39915 there is a place to argue in the US, and it’s not on the road and at the point of getting the citation. You can argue your case in the court. The officer was fair in a sense that he cited for only 10 miles over the speed limit and not 20 miles over, which would have required a court appearance.

I am impressed by two things in this video. First professionalism of the American police department and second professionalism of system. As an indian I am shocked after hearing about fine of ₹ 9000. In simple words lesson learnt from this video is... "कायदे मैं रहोगे तो फायदे मैं रहेंगे...!"

@@manujohn99 Give him a break on the fine amount. The officer was helping him out by lowering the speed he was going over. Fines are determined on how fast you were going over. Usually the police don't care if you are going 5-10 over the limit, but in this case, almost 20 over is a definite ticket. Warnings are also given at the discretion of the officer too.

@@manujohn99 Normally the police in the US are quite polite and polished. They don't harass you like in India. Mostly, you realize you are in the wrong and the fine or punishment is fair. Unlike in India where they look at you and decide how and how much to fleece you - basically in India they profile you - are you a local, look like a politician, look...

I was fined 2000/- INR for overspeeding on Delhi Noida link road last year and the challan was sent on the same day on my phone via text message with a link to pay it online. The time period of paying the challan amount was 3 months and if not paid the same would be send to the concerned court.

Good lesson varun. And it was a nice gesture to cool him as he was a bit nervous. Everyone would be in that condition. Good to ease his anxiety. Lesson learnt in 100 dollars and also to ensure the lesson reach us. This system should be here even.

Mujhe laga tha wo maaf kardenge aur warning deke Jane denge but kar diya fine wo bhi 120$ ka, the detailed description by Jayesh sir on this clearly shows why people take and follow laws so seriously over there.... Good to know one more new thing today by watching your video. Keep shining sir.

There’s a rule in the USA for speeding “Upto nine you maybe fine, over ten you are certainly mine” matlab, speed limit se 9 oopar bach sakte hai. 10 se oopar pakka warning or ticket, this thumb rule is for speed limits of 55 and above

Have lived in US for 4 years and with the kind of looooong freeways it’s easy to miss. I had always used cruise control for this specific reason.

JayeshJi is one of those people who explains each and everything in detail so that a layman can understand it, about the police episode, whenever you hit the roads on a long trip be prepared that 1)You may get a flat Tyre. 2) a close shave due to an idiot driver. 3)wrong turns 4)police pulling you up. Take each of them as an adventure and be prepared that these things will happen sooner or later it helps the mind to be prepared and when the situation actually happens you do not feel anxiety and you handle the situation well.

If the cop”s gonna give u break in ticket he won’t make u wait that long and once’s it’s being written it’s done deal .

You can always challenge the ticket and either waive it off with a driving course or plea guilty with a reason. I have tried this in Dallas TX.

Rules are very strict in USA and cost you a lot… 150$ for speeding, 200$ if you park in handicapped parking, Atleast 10000$ (7.5lakh rupees) for court cases and other expenses if you caught in Driving under alcohol+ life time US visa ban . I hope india shd have strict rules especially for Alcohol driving cases ….

Hi Varun: Very absorbing video! The Police in the US are normally quite decent when they pull you over for speeding etc. If you are lucky, they warn you and send you on your way. They also give you a break sometimes by stating a lesser speed than your actual speed. The fines depend on how much you were over speeding and in what location (i.e. a residential area, near a school, a highway etc). What Mr. Jayesh was talking about was attending a Defensive Driving course online to get rid of any points on your license. You could have a dollar value for the fine as well as points that go against you, depending on the seriousness of the offense. If you accumulate a certain number of points, your license could be suspended.

This is part and parcel of life in the U.S. Pay the fine and move on. In some states when you get 3 tickets your license gets suspended. It may take 3 years to get it re-instated. Also, do not think of skipping the fine. If you do, your license will be suspended. Also, the fine varies from state to state and it can be as high as $500 for speeding.

Dude they rarely waive off speeding tickets. Also the amount of the ticket will be shown online when u pay the fine. You can also do the driving school course to waive off points on your license for your very first ticket

That service is called "Additional Driver" service, usually most of the car rental suppliers offer that free for the first additional driver on the contract and some charge you fee against the same. Varun ji make it a note of it 😊😊

one more thing, if on court date if officer don’t come so court will cancel the ticket. it often happen lot in canada that officer don’t come so that many people dispute their ticket. and court date will come after 6-7 months when you challenge your ticket
