@Janoush7 Correction... one dev is ENOUGH to start project and with funding he can hire more devs. Problem here is that he had only "vision" and ZERO experience. My advise (as developer), before you "throw money", do research about developer. If you can't find anything, then ask for DEMO... too many scammers around.

I threw my 100 euros at Squad's kickstarter. The game has kinda changed from what was promised, but tbh it's still the best shooter i've ever played, so it was still a worthy risk. Then again i already knew the devs from Project Reality.

guys like him makes me ashamed to be a developer....all ive seen are pictures of 3d models...some cop walking around or twiddling lights in a police car.... but no videos of actual gameplay.... for 6 years, no gameplay prototypes, no nothing, no crowd simulations or npcs...an integral part of the thing they were trying to do. but noooo, only basic things that are in the example projects for unreal. it was a "6 year old $100'000 non game asset flip" made by an "idea guy", for all we know and given everything weve seen. its the truth.

Exactly, a very simple game prototype should be one of the earlier things you do, 2nd year at the very latest. You dont even need assets for a prototype, just use simple shapes and get the fundamentals working, then focus on assets.

Matt fucking Norman collected $129,000 dollars and a small amount of it just went to buy the assets. The rest went into his bank account. Then we have dumb fucks like you who believe abandoning the project is fine when he's collected such a high amount of money. Scott still doesn't excuse his negative attitude towards anyone with the slightest intention to be skeptical. Death threats, just. Ignore Em, everyone on the internet has at least a few of Em. Especially people who are doing shady practices. And honestly he should've seen it coming a few years back. If do ANYTHING online, then expect negative feedback and skepticism. Also I doubt he's been physically harmed as he said in his 15 mins of playing victim.

The 1013 video is disgusting right now. Matt is still going to be working 10-16 hour days and on weekends too. According to Matt, having a beautiful vision of a game's future is debt for half the "dev process."

Plot twist: Based on Matt's recent announcement on Facebook, he resumes development on the game, due to the "overwhelming positive support" he received after his last video. He says he's getting off from social media (except Facebook) and tries to persuade other studios to join forces in making the game (though if this persuasion happens in the same vein as in case of SRT, I won't get my hopes up for the success :D). Also, he says that from this point on, he'll follow a "no-trolling" policy, meaning that "criticism will only be accepted when specifically asked for" (that is, he'll ban everyone he doesn't like, I guess). I'm curious to see how long he'll hold up this time, but I'm beginning to believe that all this cancellation rant was nothing more than just a desperate (?) publicity stunt.

I’m all for new games big and small. I’m all for supporting new devs in whichever way I can. BigFry did do a favor to shine a light on a new project. Unfortunately, Matt blames these channels for simply talking about his project instead of working on the project to show he’s legit. I’ve never attempted to make a game, I simply play them and I get yelled at from randos. It’s part of this industry and the internet for better or worse. If Matt was overwhelmed by this negativity, I highly doubt he’s played an online game himself in lobbies filled with trolls, tryhards and loudmouths.

This reminds me of that Christian Allen dude (or whatever his name is) who was responsible for Takedown: Red Sabre. I trashed the game on a website I used to work for, and he threw a huge tantrum and for about a week, started badmouthing me on social media and making false claims like I never played Takedown, and that he even stated that he gave me a free copy of the game, which was a complete lie as I've never been contacted by him or his associates regarding this matter. Because of course, it's completely ok to charge people for a broken product and run off with the money, but it ain't alright to be called out for doing so. Modern gaming industry at it's finest.

i watch mostly every BigfryTV videos and i never see attack on devs.. If Dev. make bad game the Bigfry opinion point at bad thing in game what exist. And we are people too, we see that bad thing at game too. So don't blame Bigfry. As Developer you must prove with your action and not blame people but be hard on yourself and prove that. You will don't have glory if you not will pass path and path is not always easy. SO DON'T GIVE UP Your GAME, if you are good and strong enough. You can do it or stop blame others. I am make own game in UE4, but first i am learn UE4 4 years and month for month buy some assets pack from ue4 marketplace past this 4 years. Now i am ready, because now i have skill and lot of assets, animations, probs, enviroment and ect.. and good game concept easy to make myself. As Developer, you can not build Supermarket with no support, first build small local shop in your scope. By nice, and after time you can do it!!! But DON'T GIVE UP

The dev sounds like Australian version of Yandev. Such a drama queen. I don't know his nationality, I assume he's Australian based on his accent.

i run community manager for 2 games and i try to keep myself clear of bad things but im not willing to help or accept rude or idiotic people but those of calm and clear customers get full help and info i try to help the devs i work with by helping make sure the community is good and kind and i reward those who are helpfull

Apart from the console FPS circa ‘08 looking shotgun at 7:23, a lot of these models look suspiciously familiar... Not familiar with the development, but I have definitely seen some of these before. But I don’t want to make any accusations. Instead, I will advise any aspiring designer, artist, etc. that wants to make a videogame to give it your own style. Do your own thing. Photo realism/graphical fidelity was cool a decade ago.

Maybe dont collect money for a game you dont and probably will never have a skill to make, and you cant call instant gratification when it's been 7 years, he doesn't even really provide any reason why the game still cant be made why dont you stand up for your beautiful vision and all its all potential
