Since all already explained who Forestella are. I tell you about Immortal Song. It is a show where already known but also newcomer cover songs. It is a small competition. The audience votes who they liked the most. I love that show and discovered many great singers through it over the last 10+ years. It is fun each weekend watching the new clips on the KBS channel. I think people who really like music and good singers who are making a song their own should watch Immortal Song. And well. I love Forestella as much as all others who commented and hit the like button.

This is from old English folk song. S&G version is the most famous as far I know. There are some stories about this song Scarborough Fair..what I've read was this is a song from a ghost (soul) of a dead soldier. He asked the herbs growing on his dead body to deliver his message to his beloved girl in Scarborough Fair where was a big herb market. He asked the herbs to tell her impossible task "Tell her to make me a cambric shirt without no seams nor needle work" to make her give up waiting for his coming back as he's already unable as he's dead. Forestella sang like as messengers of this sad and beautiful story. Also there are symbols those herbs significated: parsley for comfort or to remove bitterness, sage for strength, thyme for courage, and rosemary for love. There's some speculation that these four herbs were used in a tonic of some sort to remove curses. What I first heard was to remove memories..so I thought he (the dead soldier) wanted to remove the memory about him from his girl to make her not mourning for him anymore. BTW I found those herbs cannot be grown in the same areas in fact while on my researching English references.. so it could be just for remembering the recipe for turkey seasoning ingredients, too.

Forestella is a Korean vocal crossover group! They're not a kpop group. They are the winners of JTBC's television program Phantom Singer 2. Their group name is a mixture of "forest" and the Latin/ltalian word "stella", which means star. So Forestella means a forest of stars. The video is reversed left and right, so I'll explain it as it looks. From the front, the person on the left is Bae Doo-hoon. The person next to Bae Doo-hoon is Cho Mingyu. The person next to Cho Min-kyu is Kang Hyung-ho. And when you look at it from the front, the person on the far right is Go Urim. Let me introduce each member in detail. Scarborough Fair was written by Simon & Garfunkel and released in 1982, a true classical music piece that stands the test of time. And the wonderful voices of Forestella has surely done it justice. Their voices are indeed magical and I'm sure that this made Paul Simon proud, Art Garfunkel as well if he was still with us.

S&G didn’t write it as it’s a traditional English Folk ballad. In fact they took it and failed to acknowledge for some years that they had heard it at a gig in the UK. They heard it done by Martin Carthy and it was on his album a year before there’s in 1966. Martin in turn got it from Ewan McColl who collected it in 1947 and recorded it in 1957. There were several other recordings before S&G’s but there’s was the most commercially successful. The words may date back as far as 1670 but the tune was possibly much later as the only information we have is that it was sung to Ewan by a Lead Miner who was born in 1874 but we don’t know where he got it from. Incidentally Bob Dylan had used a bit of Martin’s before Paul Simon had even heard it. You can find more detailed info on wiki.

There are 58 songs in one of the their play lists I saw. It includes covers and originals. It covers a wide range of genres and they sing in multiple languages. I know there are more songs they have sung . Every song is perfectly executed. I was at their concert in Los Angeles. It’s mind blowing . Their vocal technique, versatility and presentation makes them the best group in the world.

Forestella is simply phenomenal! Personally I think they are one of the best groups I have ever heard. Not only are their harmonies perfection but their arrangement & stylistic choices are also brilliant. Plus they also sing in multiple languages flawlessly. All their songs are incredible but I would recommend Hijo de la Luna, Nella Fanasia & White Night to start with. Look forward to more reactions.

Forestella are probably the best Vocal Quartet in the world at present. It is hard to suggest where to go next as everything is superb. You have had good suggestions but I would add their cover of Legends Never Die and Bohemian Rhapsody. When you come to their original work do Save Our Lives before Utopia as they are pt1 and 2 of a trilogy. To know more about them I would recommend A Helpful Guide to Forestella 2023 on Awkward Robots channel. They met through "Phantom Voice 2", a competition to put together a crossover quartet. Through luck of the draw they were brought together for the semi-finals and won the final. (2017) Woorim and Mingyu are trained for opera. (Mingyu was the first singer and Woorim is the deep bass) Doohoon is a musical actor (think Broadway or West End) Hyungho (the "soprano") was working as a chemical engineer and now has a rock band in addition to being part of Forestella. Their covers of Desperado, Bad Romance, Bohemian Rhapsody, Time in a Bottle, Shape of You, and Smooth Criminal are beyond impressive (imho). Mingyu is their leader, Doohoon helps with staging. They added backup dancers as they became more popular. They officially debuted in 2018, the pandemic made it difficult to perform, they are popular in S Korea and are growing worldwide popular. Lots of opera type songs, ballads, and covers. English, Spanish, Italian, an African language, and more. They work hard on their arrangements and pronunciations.
