So uh, I'm here because our coach told us to practice drills at home while they have our school shut down for possible quarantine from the coronavirus. This should help👍

The acronym at the end is the best way to remember how to properly plant a pole. This is a great video

I recall taking a black & white photo of a vaulter setting a world record in the 1960s at Santa Barbara's Easter Relays.

found stud in ceiling. drill into stud. screw in two hooks. make two loops out of rope. hang a wooden stick on ropes dangling from ceiling hooks. hope this helps at all.

What is the difference between the third and fourth drill?

  • @mjsacker

Ben Martin if you are talking about the difference between going from ankles to quads the difference is when you start extending for your quads on your invert it allows you to extend upward keeping pressure on the pole. This prevents you from getting stuck in what is referred to as the ‘bucket’ when vaulting. Follow CCAPoleVault on Instagram

third no rock back. fourth rock back. rock back helps practice being closer to the pole when inverting and the timing is more accurate when using a longer pole. when you rock back, you will align your inversion with the pole that is also pointing back. hope this helps. if not. lmk.
