Polarized sunglasses

See the difference between polarized and non polarized sunglasses. Polarized sunglasses reduce the glare off flat surfaces by filtering out the horizontal rays. Fishermen use these to actually spot fish in the water.

I too appreciate the effort in you making this video, but you are only making the glasses look worse. Your holding them wrong for starters, putting them over your camera lens which makes the view even more distorted. Besides the glasses you were trying to make this video with were not polarized, if they were polarized you would be able to see clearly the bottom of the river bed. I would know this as I have been fishing since I was a child and always wear polarized sunglasses. Now "IF" they were polarized then you bought some very cheap ones, and there were no difference in the three pair you "tried" to show everyone.

Its because polorized glasses dont work sideways like he was using them in the video they only distort the light when they are horizontal

polarized glasses have NOTHING to do with UV radiation, most good glasses protect from UVA/UVB rays....Polarization filters out certain wavelengths of light....THAT'S what reduces glare. plus if you get crappy polarized lenses vs cheap polarized, it will distort and bend light instead of filtering. Stick with Smith Optics, Maui Jim, Costa Del Mar, and Ray Ban. Revo optics are good too.....the different lenses(colors) are for certain color wavelength and environments, such as full sun?offshore, green land/ shadow/low light and driving, or sport activities....Plus if you hold up polarized glasses sideways, THEY DONT WORK.......please educate yourself before posting FALSE information. Oh and Skiers DO wear polarized lenses, it helps with depth perception. You really shouldn't post videos if you are not knowledgeable to the information.

+Lionel Falgout Actually polarized lenses do not block certain wavelengths - they block all wavelengths travelling in a certain direction (crossed with the polarizer axis). The jury is out on skiing. I personally like wearing polarized for skiing but some like to see the glare reflected off ice - especially in mogul fields. Polarized lenses do help with depth perception as you say. Corrrect on UV - just about all sunglasses block most UV and polarizers have to do it or the polarized film would be destroyed by UV. Totally correct that you only see the polarized effect if you hold the lenses in the correct orientation (as worn)
