LYRICS:
I've spent my life chasing ambitions
that were just beyond my reach,
just to feel so disenchanted as potential fell to waste.
But still I tremble at the thought of my unaccomplished aims,
knowing all my best laid plans
might leave me reeling and empty handed.
Vicious circles are a false sense of progression.
Every wrong turn one step further from my goal,
furthering the distance in my mind.
The path less travelled is one I've feared to walk,
but hesitation is a dead end road.
It seems I've always run away.
Turned my back on uncertainty
(Never dared to face my own worst fears).
A life spent being led astray will never amount to anything,
until my reflection shows me
that the hands that held me back are none but my own.
My heart will never be another unrequited dream.
I'll travel the earth and seas to find a heart that beats for me.
And though the winds will change, I'll find new strength to fill my sails,
each growing breath one final push to carry me home.
Searching for so long just to find
what was right in front of me all this time.
It takes so much just to open up your eyes.
And when you feel like you're alone,
look for strength to find your way back home and carry on.
Nothing comes of apathy.

    Thanks for the compliments and constructive criticism man. This is the first song we wrote of 6 songs on the EP, and since writing it we have tried a few different things to keep every song fresh. Hopefully one of them gives you what you're after - thanks for the support :)

    Still an amazing EP. I saw you Polaris live in St Louis about a year ago and I'm so glad that you guys kept pushing. Your music continues to help me get through the hardest few years of my life. Can't wait to hear the new stuff you are working on.

    Hey that's cool man, no harm done! I hope that if you read the lyrics you might see it's not actually an angry song to begin with - it's a frustrated song in ways, but all in all a very positive song by the end. I prefer to think of the vocals as passionate rather than aggressive haha - thanks for the comments anyway!

    I totally accept your comment. :-) Your band is very good! I don't think you should drastically change your vocals. I just think a toning down of the 'forced aggression' would vastly improve what you have to offer. Believe me, at my age, I've seen bands like you come and go. People get tired of the aggression and testosterone. But hey it's your choice and by all means...stick to what you love!

    I'm pretty sure he meant ridiculously good, since u said it's shit and you're really getting it wrong. They don't have to change themselves just to appeal to a wider audience, that's plain stupid.

  • @guitarsehole
    @guitarsehole10 жыл бұрын

    I totally agree! Great potential! Great musical ability....but jeez...what's with the straining to do a shit vocals?? It's over the top angst and false sounding. Tone it down a bit...try to reach everyone instead of just the 20 year old dudes.

  • @guitarsehole
    @guitarsehole10 жыл бұрын

    I don't get it. Are you saying they are ridiculously good? Or are they ridiculously shit? I'm saying they are bad. It sounds a bad interpretation of what angry metal is all about. And as I said, if the band want to reach a wider audience, which I'm pretty sure they do...to rethink the vocal approach. But if they only want to appeal to testosterone fuelled young dudes...they're fine. :-)
