Polar Lights 1/1000 TOS Enterprise Space Seed Edition with lighting

This is the start of my lit Enterprise build series. I will be building the TOS, the Refit, the D and the E. But not necessarily in that order!

I never knew there was an Enterprise kit with the Botany Bay. That's cool.

I did this tiny model of the Enterprise 1701! It came out very nice!

I'm building this kit now without the lighting or Botony Bay. Man, the engineering fit is awful! All of the Snap-together features get in the way of a flush fit and need to be removed. The nacelle struts are a slap in the face to the paying consumer. It looks like they forgot to finish designing them! I appreciate the amount of effort that went into making your Enterprise look THAT good. Really nice job on a pretty challenging kit.

Nicely done. I'm always very hesitant to drill windows, especial square cornered ones.

Really nice, the color and all the details are very professional. What color is the final coat ? Thanks

Thanks! The colour is a mixture of Tamiya XF grey paints. From memory the main colour is sky grey with a little of other darker greys added. Sorry, it was a mix by eye type of situation...

I’m honestly nervous to try this kit, because of not only the rectangle windows, but the seem work needed to make the hull as smooth as possible is pretty intimidating. Great job on your kit!

Time is your friend, there is no need to rush, use good filler and buy a few small micro drill bits and no 11 blades and you'll be fine.

Great job! I have the same kit, but I haven't assembled it yet. I'd like to put it in a display case once it's done, but I don't know what size I'll need. What are the dimensions of the kit after assembly?

Cheers, the finished kit is 29cm long, 16cm wide and 10cm deep.

Great job. I really wish they would just make a all new model rather than rehashing the same piece of crap they made back in the 60's.

@@alexrebmann1253 I built that one. It was my first model build actually. Not very accurate though, and it took me 3 days of sanding it to get all the panel lines off in order to make it as accurate as I could. The dome on the bottom of the saucer section is way off as well. Not shaped like it should be. But it is the best kit for that size in my opinion.
