T, stop stalking me

Since it's popping up in recommend I'm assuming some people going to come here for no reason. So here's how to build a good team in short. Have these uses for each pokemon:- 1) A physical wall. It has high physical defense and decent hp. Can stall or resists moves. 2) A special wall. Has high special defense and decent hp. Can stall and maybe attack. 3) A mega evolution. A mega is basically supposed to be a wall breaker. It's an all out offense. If it's out on the feild then it's meant to crush everything in it's path, simple as that. 4) A stall breaker. There'll always be an opponent pokemon using toxic or will-o-wisp or leech seed and recovery and stuff. You need something that when you send out, will effectively take out these pokemon, without being affected by the said stall. It could either be a Pokemon with a super effective type or a Pokemon that doesn't get affected by toxic/leech seed etc. You'll have to play the particular tier to know the best pokemon. 5) The speed pokemon. This pokemon is fast. Really fast. Even faster. Fastest in your entire party. This pokemon should always 100% hold a choice scarf. It will have very powerful moves and it's only objective is to attack first and kill. Upto you to decide whether it can kill an opponent at full hp or do you need to bring it down to half for the kill. 6) Your Favorite Pokemon. Trust me on this one. Usually people will tell you to use a stall pokemon. Or something with high stats. No. When you've finished getting 5 pokemon fulfilling the above criteria you'll find your team full of strangers. You'll never have used these Pokemon before. You'll feel completely isolated from a game. Your favorite Pokemon is the one you have to give you comfort. You already know how to use it. You love to use it. So use it as you like. It helps. Build this kind of team and you'll excell at battling in no time. That's all.

My team building pretty goes like: -Wow, I like that pokemon, but a water type would smash him. -Better pick a grass pokemon. -But what if someone uses a fire pokemon? -Better pick a water pokemon I wish I could be as talented as you are xD

+xGhostGaming u can always cover weaknesses with moves that are different type! for example charizard Y can learn solarbeam, grass type move and use it in the same turn because of his ability! there goes the opponents water type! u dont always have to use a rock-paper -scissor types of pokemon for a team to be effective! moves like that can be unpredictable sometimes and u win easier than recall ur pokemon back to bring another with a better type

Holy crap I need to step my game up. I've been playing for 2 months and only have 9 EV trained Pokemon, and in 20 days you had like 3 boxes!

Crazy how is been 7yrs since he posted this video. I still remember watching it on day one lol

just curious, but would Sandslash be a good substitute for excadrill? I was doing a little looking around with each of their pros and cons, and he seems like he can do the job better in some ways

It might not have been directly stupid, but my trevenant had way better attacks and a better nature than the Arceus i recieved. Not only that, but without knowing it, i had an Arceus from before on ._.

Arceus is not worth a shiny, which has a 1 in like 8000 chance of appearing.

I ought to take notes with this. I might see myself adding Travenant and Excadrill someday. I usually like to form a team around Vaporeon and make good use of it's water absorb ability by ether Skill swiping it or Role play it so Vaporeon can be a healer and an attacker at the same time.

Here's my team so far: (suggestions welcome!) Mamoswine with Leftovers or Rocky Helmet (can't decide): Ice Shard, Earthquake, Stealth Rock, and Icicle Crash Staraptor with Choice Band: Bravebird, Close Combat, Double-Edge, and Quick Attack Sylveon with Pixie Plate: Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, and I'm debating whether to run Toxic or Shadowball on her Houndoom with Flame Plate: Dark Pulse, Will-O-Wisp, Fire Blast, and Flamethrower Lucario with Lucarionite: Close Combat, Swords Dance, Aura Sphere, and Dragon Pulse Hydreigon with Draco Plate: Outrage, Earthquake, Dragon Rush, and either Fly or Giga Impact

I made a team for my friend and she always has Xatu on her, it has it's hidden ability so whenever she suspects a stealth rock, of willo wisp, she switches and the attack bounces back to the user, that's why Xatu is better than a set up or a rapid spinner, Forrtress is the same carrying the move rapid spin and has all the set up moves

Can we please have a more in depth guide?

Question: Does your pkmn have to be lvl 100 (even though it'll be limited to 50) to have the max stats. In other words do i have to train all my pkmn to 100 along with EV training to get the most out of them? Or do i just fully EV train them and the level won't matter?

OK, so I know move sets and abilites and super training stats matter, but just straight off the bat: Does this team sound good? It is Gardevoir, Sandslash, Aeodactyl, Trevenant, Whiscash, and Blaziken. Additional Information: Sandslash has, rapid spin. My Trevenant has forest curse so I can wipe their team with my Blaziken. Aerodactyl has Roar, Scary Face, and Stealth Rock. (Sorry for the double post. I took down the other comment because of other peeps knowing my strategy, but whatever. I'm putting it back with some more info.)

dont use super training if you want I could give u pokerus so you can train on hords in ev's to get 10 evs per hord battle then have a brace thing to up strength with growing but reduce speed you need a sweet scent pokemon and a move like surf to kill all pokemon on field

I tried the team he created here on Pokemon Showdown, and I have to say, it's a damn good team he built! I've only run into a few other teams that completely wreck this one. (or I'm just bad at Pokemon)

is this a good team? 1.klefki (starter with prankster + spikes) 2.blaziken (mega main sweeper I have protect to set up speed and swords dance) 3.salamance (secondary sweeper don't need set up has moxie) 4.glyscore (bulky defensive with poison heal) 5.avalugg (rapid spinner and has curse as back up ) 6.either venosaur (secondary mega as back up with thick fat) or rotom wash(substitute and volt switch for momentum) open to all advise and criticism

I love your Azumaril's moveset. I would probably change AquaJet for dig to take out electric pokemon.

I'd recommend having different types. On my team, I have a water, a fire, a psychic, et cetera. Also, I would put some defensive moves or moves that effect your or your opponents stats.

Interesting to see how other people build their teams :D However, I usually don't build a team around one pokeman, I end up just using 3 defensive and 3 offensive pokemon, special and physical attackers/walls and types mostly balanced, most of the time. I hope I'm not the only one who does that ^^

Uses sticky web to it's advantage to be faster than opponents, cripple setup users if quagsire's gone, and superpower sweep with a 50% crit chance for 2 of its moves. 3. Ampharos (Mold Breaker) [Modest] {Ampharosite} Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Signal Beam, Power Gem. EV Spread: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP. Sticky web makes it faster than most opponents, has great coverage and 4x effective against those gosh dang megazard ys. Great revenge killer. 4. EV Spread: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Def, 4 Sp. Atk. The medic. Cures team status problems and heals other team members (usually doublade). Good switch in for dragons like noivern and hydreigon and any non super effective special attacker for that matter. I'm having trouble deciding what item to give to Florges. Anyone got any ideas? Also, I'm thinking of switching Doublade with a lum harvest trevenant. Still a spin blocker, but a better one. Has very reliable recovery, immune to leech seed, spore and such shenanigans from whimsicott and the liking. Would be a fully defensive set with Leech Seed, Will-o-wisp, Horn Leech and Rest. Trevenant would also take advantage of sticky web more. So, you got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I've been using Malamar for the past couple of months (since I've learned about topsy-turvey) and I suggest giving it a focus sash. This way you can switch to it when a buffed up sweeper just killed someone and you are then guaranteed to land the topsy-turvey. For quagsire I'd recommend earthquake instead of stockpile in case the sweeper happens to be immune to toxic (metal type, poison type, magic bounce ability etc) Not sure if I can help you with the rest really, but over all I love your team and I hope it works out.

I'm working on a team that must have my 6IV timid mega manectric (soon, she's still an electrike) with Electroball. She's naturally a super-fast special attacker, I might try to sweep teams with her if I can teach her a move to deal with those annoying shedinjas.

Lucas da Silva Unless that simisage has really good IVs... He is not that great of a Pokémon natural stat wise. I would switch him with a different Pokémon. Either a better grass type or just a good Pokémon. Also, Pidgeot is not the best flying type to choose. I am guessing you caught it really early in the game. So you may not want to evolve another Pokémon, but find a Fletchling in Santalune forest and train it. Fletchling evolves into Fletchinder which evolves into Talonflame. Talonflame is way better than Pidgeot. because it can have flame body, and it has good stats, and it's a fricking fire bird. Also, if you have a friend who would let you. If you trade Fletchling to him then he trades it back, Fletchling will evolve faster because it gets extra bonus experience points. Now I will comment on your team. It is a solid team. Seems to be really offensive. In competitive battling... May not be the best team. But if you bring your Pokémon to max stats and give them really good moves. I could see you winning a couple of games. Here is my friend code if you want to play/trade sometime: 4382-2044-4987. I have a level 61 talonflame I'm not using if you want to trade.

TheEpicLifeOfMe well... it's his Pokémon and he could do what he wants with it. pidgeot and I evolved it in heart gold and it helped me beat the elite four(I don't remember if I did use pidgeot or not).

Since you didn't show it in the video. What do you have on Gengar? The one I'm thinking about running in Pokemon Y is Modest Gengar with Dazzling Gleam, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball & Sludge Bomb. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb for STAB plus Shadow Ball covers Ghost & Psychic. Energy Ball covers Ground (for when I Mega-evolve and lose Levitate) & Dazzling Gleam for Dark Coverage. That was an amazing idea from you, use it and you can build a team of 5 IV pokemon that will be 5x better than Yvelta. Plus if you get a good IV pokemon that someone wants, you could probably get a Yvelta back. Tony, legendaries are pretty, but useless for the most part.

you're a fool, tony. 5iv ditto is extremely useful, far more than a yvetal or xerneas. if the ditto was foreign, too, you uh.. you really really really REALLY lucked out and now you can breed perfect IV shinies with the masuda method.

I miss Pokemon X I think I might have to replay it time to find the 2dsxl

The team I used for the Elite Four was Delphox (MzillaFireFox), Raichu (Phosphora), Blastoise (Poseidon), Lucario (BluNinja2), Ludicolo (MxicanPnguin), and Hydreigon (Orochi).

Hunter Stewart diggersby might not look like a good Pokémon but it can set up. It can set up stealth rocks spikes and other things it’s a very good Pokémon.

Makes sense. I just random number generate my team with no type overlap. Everyone should try it at least once. You may find that some Pokemon you labeled as "worthless" years ago can bring more to the table than you think.

Could someone help me? I'm trying to make a Sandstorm team but I'm not sure what I should run. I have three pokemon I think can make the set good. Mega Garchomp for Sand Force, Tyranitar as a wall, and Aggron for sand storm setup/physical wall.

If I did it, I would build it like this(Charizard, use a Water type, then use a grass type, then flying etc.

I have made a team im tryin to build and right now they are all at lvl 30 consisting of omanyte, absol, axew, monferno, mawile and aerodactyl. monferno, absol and aerodactyl have jolly nature for speed and monferno is my starter. omanyte is rapid support and mawile is my sweeper, axew and absol play support what do u think of guys and what can i do to make it better?

What's the best EV spread for that Excadrill? I'm thinking of having the same (or almost the same) moveset and item, but I'm not sure of going fast (252 atk and speed) or bulky (252 atk and hp).

hows this team look, scolipede as my lead and toxic spiker, donphan as my physical def spinner, medicham (mega) as a phys sweeper, cloyster with skill link for special sweeper, gengar for coverage and sweeper, and noibat for a fast sweeper

i am trying to build a team around steel types cause they have high defense. in the list of pokemon i have thougt about are: empoleon as ´´fire brigade´´, scizor as speeder, this gen 2 bird with super high defense as wall and anti fighting type, steelix (dont know what to do with this one). any other ideas?

***** if its on steel types I would say you should add in a flying, and a water type to block of the fighting and fire

I'm new to the whole battling scene, and I'm still trying to work out the basic game mechanics. Can someone explain to me why he pick a few Pokemon that weren't level 50 yet? I know in most online battles Pokemon are either taken down to level 50 or they remain at a low level, so is he planning on training them? Or is there a function I don't know about that allows low level Pokemon to temporarily be raised to 50 for a competitive battle?

This Video is great and helps a lot , but I have one Question still. Do you actually Train your Pokemon to Level 50 or 100 when you use them on Wifi Battle ? Or do you Train them until they are evolved and have the Moves you want and use the rule so that a lower Level Pokemon jump up to the Level which you fight in Wifi Matches ?
